Byron's Beautiful Pictures of California Makes Me Want to Move There Does anybody else feel the same way? California looks so beautiful, with the ocean and the mountains everywhere. It's like having the best of both worlds right outside your window.
Started a new thread because I used the wrong message icon in my original post edit. [Edited 10/16/04 16:30pm] RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Moderator | Fuck seeing pictures! Try driving through "The Land of Enchantment" with that man and not want to move there!
I always enjoy his photos, he sees the beauty in everything and his "eye" is able to transmit that to others....he has an amazing gift. In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |

I am a native Californian 38 years and counting. I love Cali very much but in my opinion ... outsiders see it in an illusional way... Until you leave out of state you don't realize how different you are ... cities like Chicago... New York.. Miami are similar in experience... ( Although I find these places somewhat more realistic... )
Anyway ... we are a group of extremes in every sense of the word. When I travel its unreal how people will approach and state your from Cali huh? They guess Cali over NY when I open my mouth. Anyway for outsiders what I am trying to say is I think we are a facade... a pipe dream if you would... Just my experience ... likely to be controversial... I am down to earth despite.. just what I see overall... Californians tend to think all 50 states are the same... Until well traveled you don't realize just how different each region is. BELINDA CARLISLE ~ "CALIFORNIA" I remember I was In the tanning salon When I heard that River Phoenix was gone They say that only the good die young But that ain't true where I come from California...California It took a lot for me to say I want to walk away, LA From the sharks and the Chardonnay In California...California 4 in the morning we were in our beds The swaying palm trees above our heads Woke up to a primal rumbling sound When the Northridge quake ripped open the ground California...California It took a lot for me to say I want to walk away LA from the sharks and the Chardonnay In California... In California Golden State, I'm back in the Golden State Golden State of Mind Golden State, I'm back In the Golden State Golden State of Mind It took a lot for me to say I want to walk away L.A. [Edited 10/16/04 22:31pm] You really think that most Californians think that all 50 states are like Cali??...I'm not too sure about that. Besides, there are like 5 different "Californias" within California...lol. Northern Cali is nothing like Southern Cali...and central California is like neither of the two opposite ends...The mountain towns are nothing like the beach cities...there's so much variance within this state that it becomes rather easy to find the area and location of California which suits you best.

Major cities are alike... San Francisco is much the same... and yes I think many Californians do not travel enough to pick up difference... for instance... I often hear surprise that the major news stations are far different from Northern to Southern... You like I venture out in every sense of the word.... far more do not....etc...
