Glad to see that folks noticed the Tantive IV in the Anakin pic. I've heard that they also re-created the bridge of the Executor from ESB. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

We could not call ourselves members of the Org Jedi Order if we could not recognize that setting! Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

I'm not quite sure who the actor is, but the makeup job is excellent.

I cannot wait until this movie comes out. But, the fact that he didn't bring Mark Hamill on, to portray the older "Anakin," will leave alot to be desired. It would've been cool to watch them all back to back, then young Luke, would really look like his "father."

Plus, it would have confused the uninformed people: "What? Luke is Darth Vader?" I don't know how many people had asked me after Ep I if that movie was about Luke as a child. Idiots.

Hayden is too young to be portaying Anakin in Ep III. This will make a 30 or 40 year gap between Episodes III and IV they way this one is shaping up. Hamill playing an older Anakin would be no worse then the BS Lucas pulled at the end of the SE Jedi. Replacing the older Anakin with the yonger version.... ???? Luke would've done a serious double-take. He wouldn't have recognized the vision cause he never saw Anakin as a young man. Hamill playing him now would tie-in to the cave scene on Dagobah, in Ep V. _ [Edited 10/5/04 16:17pm]

I cant believe that so many of you have high expectations of this film!
With such high hopes you are bound to be dissapointed, unless they have suddenly changed the writer and director. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

_ You mean how he recognized the old dude with hair, sans weird scars and whatnot? When the sunlight strikes raindrops in the air, they act as a prism and form a rainbow. The rainbow is a division of white light into many beautiful colors. Regardless of the day, I'm glad you were born.

More than a young Anakin / Hayden... yes. fantasyislander said: and MrJoker, i think your archnemesis is forgetting too that the cave scene on dagobah didn't picture anakin in the mask, it was supposed to be himself he saw in the vision, not a young version of his father. i think that would have confused the whole cave scene even more.
No, all I'm saying is that a son resembles his father. That's why he saw his own face, so when Vader tells him "I am your father," the vision would make sense.

I may be mistaken since it's been a long time since I read the novelization of ROTJ, but wasn't the point of seeing his own face in Vader's helmet a sign that he was not ready for being a Jedi and not because of any father-son significance. Yoda reminds him before he rushes off to face Vader in TESB "Remember your failure at the cave?" This was meant that the lesson had already been learned, not something yet to be encountered.

With such high hopes you are bound to be dissapointed, unless they have suddenly changed the writer and director. I think the curiosity factor is high, and the expectations are measured. For better or for worse, this film is the bridge to the earlier Eps. But Eps I and II diluted expectations considerably. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

For better or for worse, this film is the bridge to the earlier Eps. But Eps I and II diluted expectations considerably. I think that will work to Lucas' advantage. The expectations for Ep I were SO high that nothing he made at that point would have been received as well. I took the last two films for what they were worth, and I have enjoyed them immensely.

Interesting point. I guess the impact of Vader telling him he was his father, made me think he saw himself in Vader, at the cave. I never read the novels.

For better or for worse, this film is the bridge to the earlier Eps. But Eps I and II diluted expectations considerably. The good thing is that we already know the story at this point, so they can concentrate on the lighsaber battles. And that's something that Lucas has done a very good job on in Ep.I & II.
