is anyone still watching the tv show "JOEY?" OK it ain't "Friends" and the storylines to date aren't very original...I could think of a bunch of ways to perk it up a bit...(bring the guy on from the original pilot whole stole "joey's" part on that nurses show-the tension between 2 characters could be potentially funny) but I just want to keep watching it for because I can't stand how much critics keep saying it's not doing as well in Nielsen ratings as FRIENDS once did. Apparently last week it was #14 on Nielsen ratings and they are critics are predicting the demise of the show. When you have 3 CSI's and 3 LAW AND ORDERS to compete with this season...none of them comedies...#14 ain't bad - especially when there aren't any other comedies that came in above #14).
I'm just venting...I'm the sucker that wants to see this show survive (no pun intended, SURVIVOR fans) more than a season. Let the rain come down...17 days....

It just ended here (it was on in the background).
It's alright, I just don't think it's quite found it's rhythm yet completely. Viewers still need to get used to it a little more and maybe it can get better. It has good potential though-it just has a lot of cards dealt against it. I'd like to see Carl make an appearance ("Dammit Carl!") and see another Minute Maid fiasco. (Joey Lauren Adams sure is hot.)

Is it me or does that blond neighbor just not fit on the show? They need a new love interest...here i go again! Let the rain come down...17 days....

You know the Christina Applegate show? The same producer was involved and I think right now at least it's on its way into that territory sadly. If they worried more about making it more funny or even consistently funny they wouldn't need the blond neighbor-which, you're right-just doesn't seem to fit in for me. I always picture him just randomly meeting someone. It's just too easy to have it be the Super. Maybe if they weren't so worried about making it easily pleasing they could try some new things and make it be more original. Right now it's kinda Friends-lite to me I guess.

I remember Jessie...that show could have lasted a little longer if they had kept the cast small (Jessie and Diego and airy red head friend and maybe her dumb blond brother; got rid of son and annoying mute brother) and then when it did a complete 180 in season 2-that was a car accident waiting to happen. Exactly. It was a pretty harmless show, but when they tried to "improve" it they killed it. That's what I'm hoping doesn't happen with Joey-that same melodrama that could happen if he somehow ends up dating the Super or something. We really don't need to see a new glimpse of them almost getting together every week. (Good Morning, Miami.) Maybe it just needs to finish the season out, they could all be finding their footing and getting used to things. Who knows, I'd like for it to stay and improve, but there's such a bad history for spinoffs.

I think if Joey has its own voice and style more (like Frasier did) it'd have a chance to survive on a better level. (A death metal version of "I'll Be There For You" couldn't hurt either.)

I'm really hating it, so far. I think it's had like one funny joke. It reminds me of an EVEN WORSE version of that show with that girl from Married with Children (sorry, my memory's failing me tonight). What was that show?!? The first season was about her and her dad, who was sort of a rip-off of Archie Bunker, and then they revamped it and it was about her and her friends and I think she went from being a waitress/bartender to a nurse(?). She had a crush on the guy next door and I think she had a kid (on the show). I SWEAR this series isn't a figment of my imagination (if it is, I cancelled it). Anyway, Joey reminds me of that. It feels too forced and the characters don't have a natural chemistry like the gang on Friends did. I sense a big "revamping" in the months/years to come.
(The: I should read the entire post, not just the subject line, before replying edit. I asked if anyone knew how the show's doing in the ratings. AFTER posting, I noticed you said it was number 14, which I don't think sounds very promising. So, the line asking if anyone knows how it's doing has now been edited out.)
