Tell them you gave your money to your friend who built a nuclear weapon with it, and that you'd really appreciate it if they didn't call you anymore.

I was determined to get through school without loans because I HATE debt so I worked 2 jobs for much of college including nights at UPS because UPS would help with school ($1,500 a semester in tuition reimbursement) and struggled through. I'm not saying it was easy but after getting though a tough six years I have 3 degrees that I'm quite proud of because I earned them completely in every way. way to go !! thats quite an accomplishment I think so too which is why I like to brag about it sometimes

The U.S. federal government's financial aid programs generally assume that parents will pay at least part of their children's undergraduate expenses, unless the student is married, over a certain age (24?), a veteran, or falls under another exception. So what if your parents aren't willing to contribute? Too bad for you. what about unable? If they're genuinely unable, then the parents won't be expected to contribute anything, as the federal formula considers their income and assets. people in England, can somebody clear up the following for me;
i've finished uni', and about to start work- do i have to inform the loans company, or will they just automatically start extracting the money? "London, i've adopted a name that has no pronounciation.... is that cool with you?"
"YEAH!!!" "Yeah, well then fuck those other fools!"

I studied (and now live in Scotland) but family are in england. I started uni in the last year that got a mixture of grants and loans. The winter after I finished (and every february-ish since) I got a set of forms asking whether i wanted to defer. You can defer if your income is less than about £20K (though they change it every year) otherwise you have to confirm your bank details and they take it by direct debit starting in april (£130ish per month for me!). Mind you, I think the loan system has changed a bit since and some now seem to have it taken straight out of their pay (although you still don't have to pay until you earn a certain amount). www.slc.co.uk should tell you everything you need to know. just tell them when you started uni and they tell you what system applieds. All those who believe in telekinetics, raise my hand...

I'll be a loan free man somewhere next June !! Why in the world would it take 9 months to pay $400? Those are the smallest payments I have ever heard of. They gave me the choice out of several payments, so I chose the lowest one. I think I pay around the 45,- euro a month. I don't even notice it !! Futuristic Fantasy
