But going from water only to solid food can be a mistake.

Like I said, you might want to take it in stages. And Sub is completely right...stay hydrated. If you find that you are drinking lots of water and still not right, try gatorade in small amounts.

you think? maybe I SHOULD try some apple juice then and see how I go hmmm

Thanks the support, Nothinbutjoy!

biggrin

I'd be careful with anything other than water, Natisse, if you're sick your stomach can be extra sensitive to other liquids other than water (including juices) and it's best to try what Nothinbutjoy said and do anything other than water in smaller doses.

You're the best judge, but for me at least water and crackers help the most when I'm sick then I try something a little more solid like chicken soup, nothing with too much seasoning-spicy is a big no-no of course.

Just in stages, don't try to rush things, just make sure it's until you're better.

biggrin

i saw the title to this thread and was all ready to suggest greek gyros, then i clicked on it and saw you wanted something light. pout

but i think everyone has gotten it right so far. stick with liquids. and when you're ready to move on to solids, make sure they are colorless at first. (like toast, cracker, and then maybe work your way to oatmeal.)

feel better soon sweety!! hug

Greek gyros is 'Souvlaki' babes. Gyros basically means the lamb is placed & prepared on the spit (rotiserrie). It's a great dish but I wouldn't recommend it to U because Ur still 2 ill. Save it for the weekend when Ur well again (I'll take U to the best in Melbourne)....nod

Before you go to sleep I'd recommend a kebab or an Indian meal and a big pint of cold water. In the morning a big cooked breakfast helps (bacon, sausage, tomato, mushrooms etc). I'd also recommend plenty of fruit to replenish all that Vitamin C. Fizzy drinks also are good to help settle the stomach.

Hey, Natisse - hope you're feeling a lot better now deary. Some good advice on here for sure - make sure you get your Vitamin C (fruits & juices) and if possible, eat berries too (or drink some cranberry juice). Soup is a good option as it's easy on the system.

Rest up lots and get better soon! hug

I bought some in UK, I have to confess it really taste weird, but not bad (a bit like BBQ sauce); otherwise I'd recommend brown rice, healthy and easy to digest
Is there any place of refuge one can flee from this insanity
