The Simpsons in Nov, again...plus, thoughts on new season of TV

I can't stand the fact that we have to wait 'til early Nov for new Simpsons and their first episode every year is "The Treehouse of Terror", skits that were influenced by Halloween, of course. It just sucks. Is this becuase of football? I thought that at first but football but they are showing some "Fashion Rocks" special.

Other than that, how has the new season been treating everyone? The only new show I'm sort of interested in is the new John Goodman sitcom (I also like "King of the Pack" or whatever, where he lends his voice). I just think that John Goodman is great and was the best thing by far on "Roseanne", even though he seemed to be hardly used toward the end. His last sitcom where he was gay and in Ohio really sucked but this one, which seems to follow the pattern of "Raymond" and his cloned shows, looks good. I look forward to the new "Law and Order" later this year (Bebe Neuwirth is a lawyer and Jerry Orbach from the orginal series returns) . Ohter than that, it all seems to suck. What does everyone else think?

The Simpsons always has a strange schedule, they delayed things because of contract disputes with the voice actors, which were thankfully resolved.

A big part of it is football though.

I wish there was a way to just move it to Wednesday and just repeat the ones that aired on Wednesday when they're out of the year's run.

Father of the Pride is alright I guess-not anything new, but pretty good for what it is. Hopefully it'll get better.

I'm absolutely loving the new season of Scrubs, last year's was pretty good but wasn't the best writing wise.

Two and a Half Men remains my favorite new show. Last year I got hooked, and so far this year it's been great.

biggrin

(Damn I need to watch less TV.)

The Simpsons not being on is because of baseball not football.

How can you not LOVE the Simpson's Halloween specials? I look forward to them every year!!

As for other new shows, I've been liking Jack & Bobby on WB (thanks to a tip from endorphin74) just a sweet, cute show, and I can't miss Scrubs no matter what. Now that 6 Feet Under's season is over, Scrubs is my favorite show on right now.

I lvoe them too but just wish they were on before Halloween. So it's baseball holding up "The Simpsons". Maybe it was prior years taht it was football that interfered with the Sunday lineup. Thanks. And I know it's rare for me to be here but whenever I got something to share, I figure I better show up.

I'm loving the new season of Scrubs.

As CarrieMpls mentioned, Jack & Bobby is a nice show to watch as well. (It helps that Jack is SOOOOO hot!)

I have to watch Lost still- I am excited for that one.

Joey is okay. It's off to a slow start, but not necessarily a BAD start.

I'm not liking this season of the Apprentice. The Trump has gone from being blunt but smart to just being a dick. I'm hoping it improves as some dead weight is cast-off and we get to know some of the contestants.

ER started HORRIBLY, IMO. If the premiere was an indication of the season to come, I may finally give that show up....

I am waiting impatiently for the return of the Simpsons and Arrested Development. Both of those shows ROCK!
