i always liked him with a bit of an underbite, too. of course, this may not be the finished result, but the picture isn't doing a whole lot for me. there are pictures of the other FF members floating around too - i think the only one from the bunch who looks even vaguely faithful to the comics is the invisible woman/girl/boobage/whatever.

Well, I don't like the lack of brows on The Thing at all, and the lips are way too human. He comes across as a burn victim, instead of a guy made of rocks. Hopefully, the filmmakers are planning on this being an "early transformation" shot, and that he will evolve over the course of the film into the ever-lovin', blue-eyed Thing we all know and love.

As for the others, well, I know its nit-picky, but Johnny Storm should be blonde. Reed looks waaaaay too young. In fact, he and Johnny look like they're about the same age. Reed should seem like the oldest of the bunch, with Ben just about around the same age. Sue should be a tad younger, with Johnny as the youngest of the bunch.

All in all, none of this is what concerns me about the FF film. What I'm worried about is the script review from Aint It Cool News:

Sorry, but IF that's the shooting script, then it sounds incredibly bad.

i read the script review too, and it sounds really dodgy. they completely crucified the character of doctor doom, which sucks, considering how cool a character he is in the comics. sheesh, i'm surprised herbie the robot didn't get tossed into the script.

Thats pretty good, at least it seems to be makeup instead of what they did to the Hulk disbelief they might as well have left it as a cartoon.

Hmm, not too sure about that. He does look like the Thing from the earliest FF strips, I'm not sure that's the look they should have gone for though. neutral

Oh yeah, the Hulk looked incredibly fake. Still, with filmmaking as it is, there isn't any reason for The Thing to look fake, regardless of whether its makeup or CGI.

You'd think wouldn't ya lol

I just think you can't go wrong with some awsome makeup, and infill with CGI. Films just tend to be the other way round these days and its not like it's a cost thing. Those boffins cost more than the makeup. They ruined tha last bond flick with it (so not needed) I just don't want each and every superhero to get systematically CGI'd. For that reason this pic looks good, kinda keeping him super-human rather than super-mountain lol

Exactly. I'm also not thrilled with the idea of Dr. Doom having "organic" armour, and essentially being the "Fantastic Fifth". neutral

This Thing looks worse than the one from that horrible Roger Corman movie...
I like the idea of going with how he originally looked...but, this just looks like crap...
I'm not impressed with everyone else in the cast either...
Reed's white is faker than fake
Jessica Alba as Susan Storm?...*ugh*...'nuff said
...and this Chris O'Donnell wanna-be for Johnny Storm...HE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE BLONDE HAIR!!!

Well...it can't be worse than Catwoman...can it...???

Two sticking points:

1) Isn't the Human Torch supposed to be a blond?
2) Who'd want Jessica Alba to be invisible -- even temporarily!!! She's GORGEOUS!
