Thanks, everyone... Just found out there will be services in Los Angeles next week. My mom won't be able to attend, but I will be. I was surprised he held on as long as he did...I had first heard of his condition last December, I believe...I had just heard about another uncle of mine dying of a heart attack, so hearing of Don's illness just was another hit in the heart at the time, even though we weren't very close...but I just think of my mom at times like this...13 brothers and sisters in all within her family...4 have passed, three within the past few years.

i'm so sorry for your loss byron.

my uncle don died just a couple months ago. he had emphysema. he was in cali, and my dad and aunt (who live here in nebraska) were going to go see him, but he died the morning they got on the plane. they missed telling him goodbye by just a few hours. i hadn't seen him in years, and i'm sorry i couldn't make it out there to tell him goodbye either.

Awww shit Byron, this totally sucks.

I'm sorry for your loss, Byron. I believe he's in a better place now, not to mention suffering no more. My grandfather died from prostate cancer 6 years ago and the suffering he endured was horrific. No one should have to suffer. Thank God his pain is gone now.

I wish you and your family strength at this difficult time.
