when an org friend is feeling down..

what do you do when an org friend is feeling down ??? how do you cheer them up ??? and do you think we get to know each other well enough to be able to tell when we are upset ???



p.s. - this thread is not about me, so, hold the hugs lol actually, im doin alright for now.. its another friend im worried about...

I can cheer someone up by posting a funny picture to make them laugh.

And normally when someone is upset and they want it acknoledged they post about it. Or you can just send them a note asking them if they are down. It's sorta hard to cheer someone up via discussion boards though.

Sometimes I just give a hug, but if I think it's serious enough I'll convey my concern privately over some form of media or another.

Basicly anyone here I care enough about to notice if they are down, I also call afriend outside of the org, infact i don't even associate the org with them anymore they are just who they are. If they are down, then I guess i try to listen, and comfort them. What else can you do?

I think if it's someone you don't know that well it's obviously hard, unless they come out with it, to know when they're down...there are a small handful of people here that I know well enough to notice but apart from that I'm afraid I wouldn't sad

as for how to cheer them up, I think that totally depends on the person who needs it and just how depressed they really are

I hope whoever it is knows you're there for them and that they have a good friend in you

I usually send an orgnote or e-mail and tell them that i'm there for them nod and ofcourse a big hug

But sometimes I do feel helpless when that happens sad
