Ex-Moderator | Bay Area orgers, help! If you were in San Francisco for only a day or 2, what would you do?
I'm traveling to San Francisco in less than 2 weeks for a friend's wedding. My traveling companion had to cancel fairly last minute so I'm going all by myself. I'll be in town a Thursday-Sunday with wedding/friend stuff planned basically all day Thursday and Saturday, but I'll have all day Friday and Sunday to myself. I've been to San Fran before so I've seen Fisherman's Wharf, Ghiradelli Square, Nob Hill, that winding street, Haight-Ashbury and Alcatraz. I've got City Lights Books (which I've been before, but I gotta go back) and MoMA on my list so far but that's it. Any ideas? What should I do? |

Honestly! Fantastic place, great people, amazing atmosphere and you can even have a smoke out on the veranda. Ask for Haime, he runs the place and tell him I said hi. He's a good fella. Or maybe you were talking about more cultured activities...

Sounds like a nice place to while away the afternoon/evening before my flight leaves on Sunday (since I get to check out at noon but my flight doesn't leave till 11:30 that night). Specially since I can have a smoke on the veranda. |

You'll love it. | |

You could always take the BART out to Berkeley and explore Telegraph Avenue. There's an Amoeba records there too and some good vintage clothing stores. Not to mention a lot of Berkeley vibe.

The California Academy of Science is nice, in the downtown near Moscone Center and MOMA. Also try catching the ferry to Sausilito for lunch and shopping. BEAUTIFUL, LOVED AND BLESSED"

The weather is supposed to be nice. September and October is our best weather. You could take Geary Street to the ocean, visit the newly renovated Cliff House (it just reopened, looks great) or have a drink at the Beach Chalet (cool murals, ocean views, good expensive drinks).
