a friend and i once recited the entire film of john waters' "desperate living" during a roadtrip, line for line. eek

i have just about all of the old john waters movies memorized, from "multiple maniacs" ("mr. david, i want to perform ACTS with you! oh god! god DAMN it!") through "polyester" ("i never meant to use macrame to kill!" "shut up, ya little slut!").

the only other ones i can think of that i know better than the back of my own hand are:

grey gardens
the color purple
purple rain

(such colorful movies! lol )

Desperate Livng! Now there's a Movie I'll never forget!!! Shoo dog! That movie was harsh.

Pretty in Pink
St Elmo's Fire
Stand By Me
Breakfast Club
Some Kind of Wonderful
Willy Wonka
Heathers
When Harry Met Sally
original Star Wars trilogy

I'm sure there's all sorts of movies, but those were the ones I loved as a kid/teen and would watch over and over and over... to a point now when I hear someone say something even remotely close to a line in one of them I think about the whole scene.

And I don't have the words memorized, but I can do most if not all of the dance steps in Hairspray. redface I love that movie and I was Tracy Turnblad one year for Halloween and I wanted to be authentic. smile

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan

Kirk: "...Khan!"
Khan: "You still remember, Admiral. I cannot help but be touched. I, of course, remember you."
Kirk: "Khan, what is the meaning of this attack? Where's the crew of the Reliant?
Khan: "Surely I have made my meaning plain. I mean to avenge myself upon you, Admiral. I've deprived your ship of power and when I swing around I mean to deprive you of your life. But I wanted you to know first who it was who had beaten you."
Kirk: "Khan, if it's me you want, I'll have myself beamed aboard. Spare my crew!"
Khan: "I make you a counter-proposal. I'll agree to your terms if... if... in addition to yourself, you hand over to me all data and material regarding the project called... Genesis."
Kirk: "Genesis? What's that?"
Khan: "Don't insult my intelligence, Kirk."
