Another trial of life My wife is in the hospital and is going to have surgery tomorrow.
Friday night she started having pain in her stomach. She gave it a full day before she decided it was bad enough to get a medical opinion on it, and she ended up in the ER. They quickly determined that she had a gallstone and her gallbladder was very infected. They're doing surgery tomorrow at some point to remove her gallbladder. Until then she's taking morphine to try to keep the pain level down which isn't working too well. Within the last couple of hours, they decided it was okay to give her her own controller that will give morphine on demand without having to have a nurse there. Since finding out the diagnosis, I've gotten a lot of answers to my fears and overall questions, and I'm much more calm now knowing that it's not really anything life-threatening. I just don't like seeing the love of my life restricted to a bed in a hospital and standing by helpless. Since I work at the very same hospital (and same building, floor and section) where she is, at least while she's resting I can keep myself here surrounded by a good support group: my co-workers, plus all of you here at the Org because you can all take my mind off of this frightening time if not directly then indirectly. Anyway, I'm visiting her every hour or so instead of keeping myself there continuously just so she rests up enough for the surgery tomorrow, although I may spend the night here again in case of any other developments. Any thoughts or prayers to get her though this are appreciated.

Thank you, everyone.
The hospital staff still couldn't give us a time for when the surgery will be other than it will be on Sept 14 (that's now today). Could be early in the morning, could be late afternoon. She seems like she's doing okay, but I know she's really hurting yet. Not much she can do until the surgery. Rachel had a few visitors today. Her brother and his wife came with their two children, plus my own three kids, and also her dad. It got to be a little too much since the kids alone were driving us all insane. Later on her mom was able to come, and we explained things to her since we didn't tell her what was going on initially until we knew what was going on ourselves. I'm sure she'll end up getting more visitors tomorrow. Her co-workers haven't stopped by yet, so I'm sure they'll make an appearance. I'll post an update after the surgery. Right now I should think about getting some sleep. It's going to be a long day.

She will be just fine.
I had mine out last December. I had what they call here the bandaid operation.. Luckily I did not have them lodged in my intestines.. I was out of the hospital the next day... She will need some love.. ^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect, it means you've decided to look beyond the imperfections... unknown

I just got the call over here that she'll be back in her room in about 15 minutes. The surgery went well. She only needed the laproscopic surgery and not a huge 4 or 5 inch incision like she might have needed. This means it's likely she could be home tomorrow.
Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes, guys! They all paid off!
