We make an impact on this earth that sometimes goes only as far as the person impacted. What if no one had carried on the words of King? What if we did not pass on the stories of our families, our friends, ourselves? To me that says BE SOMETHING! DO SOMETHING! MAKE AN IMPACT! Because soon enough we all go back to dust. Make a legacy that imprints the world, be it the music world, the political world, the teaching world.....aw hell, now this has gotten to me
perhaps a message I needed to hear, and a new way of "hearing it". Thanks Freespirit Now this seems to be the ideal thought... here among many of you... I feel it's a beautiful perception of change, life... and process of a life form and it's journey to the next phase. I love that you and many here have associated (to some degree) impact as a process to be carried on, to evolve into another phase. The journey of all life forms, I feel... has great purpose, should matter... for it will be our eternal sense of life for ever more. Choose carefully the journey one takes, or if nothing more, appreciate the journey for what it is...

There's part I really like in a song by John Mayer, "Something's Missing". . . "Autumn leaves fall and are swept out of sight, The words that you said have come true. Autumn leaves fall and are swept out of sight, So is the memory of love that we knew. The wind of forgetfullness blows them Into the night of regret. The song we so often did sing, Is echoing echoing yet. The falling leaves, Drift by the window. The autumn leaves of red and gold. I see your lips, The summer kisses, The sunburned hands I used to hold. Since you went away, The days grow long, And soon I'll hear cold winter song. But I miss you most of all, my darling, When autumn leaves start to fall." Beautiful song, get your hands on the Coldcut version, it's very nice. So is the Irresistible Force ambient remix. I like that Thank you both, yes... those are beautiful lyrics... I would love to hear the song.

Peter, I went to work this morning and began my day...
Then I thought, hey... Peter came out of the wood work... You know you are my hero. Your photography amazes me to no ends... Serious started a thread some time back (I am sure you know)... and showed both of your livingroom design (which was absolutely beautiful. Although, all I could think of... was... Where are all your beautiful pictures? Peter said: Freespirit said: How do you feel?
Curious... Is this a riddle? OK, I won't solve it but I will tell you the thoughts I had when I looked at your photos... The first photo shows great lightning. You have captured detail in both the shadow area and the highlighted part, which is not easy - technically. In photography it's all about the light, it can make a boring subject stand out. This is a great photograph of a boring subject. Well done. When I listen to the right part of my brains (the intiutive one) I see an ugly dangerous deep see fish head! Turn your head to the left side and look at the shadow *within* the leaf (not the outline of the leaf). Can you see the big openend mouth? Exactly!!! That was my thought when after I took the picture and viewed it for the first time. I was in total awe of the lightning I captured. Strange thing is... there were so many random leaves on the path and that one in particular stopped me in my tracks. I was obsessed with it immediately... I had to bend down and capture the force that was calling me (sound strange), the subconscious mind/eye. The more I looked at it... the more I knew it was so perfectly staged by nature, not a minute too soon or too late. ~Big, big sigh. Plus, something else drove me to capture it... and it had to do with someone's love of Fall. (With all elements, he crossed my mind at that same time) So many reasons... to what drives us... it's so amazing how life moments cause us to act or... take the initiative to do what we do sometimes. The second one reminds me to my name. peter = petrus = the rock. Looking at the harsh shadow I know that it was taken in bright sunlight (maybe early afternoon?) but the photo appears rather dark. Was that controversy by purpose? I will explain and show you. You are right again. The third photo is tricky. It looks like water drops in the sand. Are these rain drops? No, they look like TEAR drops! Freespirit, how do YOU feel? I also notice a tiny shadow in the top part of the image. I hope it is going away and not coming closer... No, worries... and you were partially right... then your concerns/compassion took over. Oh Martina... in your life you have two beautiful souls... one is yours and the other is his. However I have no clue what the thread title refers to... I'm really curious to learn the story behind these photos. I'm worrying a little bit... All the best! - Peter - Ps~ I am no professional (like you Peter)... I only hope to continue the joy of "capturing/preserving the moment". [Edited 9/14/04 20:37pm]

So this is where my day began on Sunday.
http://www.nps.gov/moca/ (read here for more information) Montezuma Castle National Monument ~~~~~ From Peter's response... The first photo shows great lightning. I knew time was so perfectly staged by nature, not a minute too soon or too late. ~Big, big sigh. All moments give rise to new meaning and a new direction for all to ponder momentarily...or ponder forever more. (which led to this fantastic photo... that I could not just pass by...that little leaf waited so patiently) I feel... the pictures can tell the story, better than me. [Edited 9/14/04 23:24pm]

Next... we drove to Sedona. What a beautiful day! The pure color of the moutains, the uniqueness of the trees, the power of the sky... just blows my mind. The clouds came and went through each passing minute. The sky changed so quickly, the air and wind blew beautifully and there was even moments of lightning. I truly feel this place to be one of the most spiritual places I have been on many occasions. To be aware of so many natural wonders... all within our reach.
Walked down some trails... (not too much sunlight, kind of casting with clouds above) My friend Six, she did not want her picture taken... (sunlight and more light around) Then in the middle of sunlit day ... it began to rain the largest raindrops I had ever seen/felt. So randomly these raindrops were and literally spread apart in distance... with the sun overhead, it was so magical/strange. Which lead to this picture... (I just had to capture the raindrops against the red Sedona dirt) as we were walking down the trail. So much to feel so much to think so much to understand. The shadow in the upper right corner was indeed this adorable isolated rain cloud coming into the framed view of the cameras eye. This picture was taken next... as the overcast was right above us... yet there existed clear areas where the sun still shed much light, enough to still cast a more subtle shadow around the already shadowed rock. One big raindrop near the botton left of the rock, the wettness of the raindrop so apparent... awe, captured. All this resulted in such happiness (an overwhelming burst of enlightenment)... and spiritually uplifting... I forgot until then, I could video tape the rain... so I did. Listen, watch and feel... but don't you dare laugh. I am a dork. ~Smile. The rain sound is just incredible. http://mysite.verizon.net...es/007.swf (Large Video) http://mysite.verizon.net...s/007e.swf (Small Video) (Thank you Byron for streaming the videos) Endless Hugs to you. Later... after continuing to walk... beautifully speechless... we decided to climb this beautiful mountain, and that is what we did. Sixtany... in meditating form... This is the sight we were looking at as we sat (breathed... took in) and felt intensely for a beautiful amount of time. What a beautiful day it was. Thank you for allowing/wanting me to share... life has miraculous moments that shall be seized to the fullest, make the choice and choose to live with the utmost appreciation for all moments. There is a lesson within every moment... ~Beautiful Night all. [Edited 9/14/04 22:56pm]

Julie !
Those photos are amazing, my favourite is Sixtany (in meditating form), I love the way it captures how she and nature become one . That red coloured soil and rocks are beautiful, we don't have that here in Austria . It reminds me of South Africa, whenever I think of the landscape there I remember that warm and intense colour: Thank you so much for your nice words about Peter and me , they make me . You are really beautiful inside and outside With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

Freespirit said: ... How do you feel? Looking at these pics again they remind me of this beautiful song: Letting Go (by Sananda Maitreya aka Terence Trent D'Arby) The knife's edge pierces Autumn And stabs the wind we fear But we must find ourselves Before we disappear By knowing when to move on We keep the peace with our pride We seldom live our moments Before the leaves have dried But it's a peaceful feeling when We surrender And there is healing power in Letting go Alone, confused, and naked Is when we are most sacred Fear is the enemy That strikes out at our sanity By keeping faith in our promise We drink from Eros fountains We confirm that we are here Moving up on higher mountains... And it's a peaceful feeling when... We surrender And there is healing power in... Letting go And it's a peaceful feeling when... We surrender There is healing power in... Letting go Letting go Hush, hush I hear music Falling down like rain Hush, I feel mercy And forgiveness I see Golden Light... Shining ever-bright Into the light I'll go... And it's a peaceful feeling when We surrender And there is healing power in Letting go And it's a peaceful feeling when We surrender There is healing power in... In letting go Letting go... With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be!
