A long walk on a fall day. nod

There's part I really like in a song by John Mayer, "Something's Missing". . .

When Autumn comes, it doesn't ask
It just walks in where it left you last
You never know when it starts
Until there's fog inside the glass around your summer heart

That's kind of how I'm feeling. But I welcome the change in seasons. I've spent too many years in school to not associate this change in weather and color with new begginings. I feel like I should get some new clothes and pencils and a 3" canvas binder and just forget the past and jump in and try again.

The pictures made me feel old..this leave, laying there, soon to be a fossil, and that rock that immortalized that leaf, soon to be dust. We make an impact on this earth that sometimes goes only as far as the person impacted. What if no one had carried on the words of King? What if we did not pass on the stories of our families, our friends, ourselves? To me that says BE SOMETHING! DO SOMETHING! MAKE AN IMPACT! Because soon enough we all go back to dust. Make a legacy that imprints the world, be it the music world, the political world, the teaching world.....aw hell, now this has gotten to me sad

perhaps a message I needed to hear, and a new way of "hearing it".

Thanks Freespirit hug

Curious...

Is this a riddle? OK, I won't solve it but I will tell you the thoughts I had when I looked at your photos...

The first photo shows great lightning. You have captured detail in both the shadow area and the highlighted part, which is not easy - technically. In photography it's all about the light, it can make a boring subject stand out. This is a great photograph of a boring subject. Well done. When I listen to the right part of my brains (the intiutive one) I see an ugly dangerous deep see fish head! Turn your head to the left side and look at the shadow *within* the leaf (not the outline of the leaf). Can you see the big openend mouth? eek

The second one reminds me to my name. peter = petrus = the rock.
Looking at the harsh shadow I know that it was taken in bright sunlight (maybe early afternoon?) but the photo appears rather dark. Was that controversy by purpose?

The third photo is tricky. It looks like water drops in the sand. Are these rain drops? No, they look like TEAR drops! Freespirit, how do YOU feel? sad
I also notice a tiny shadow in the top part of the image. I hope it is going away and not coming closer...

However I have no clue what the thread title refers to...

I'm really curious to learn the story behind these photos. I'm worrying a little bit...

All the best!

Beautiful responses... many of you have surprised me beautifully... rose

I shall head to work... although I shall post a response later this evening.

It's all good (Peter) ~Big Hugs... I simply had an amazing day taking shots at just about anything that captured my heart... and that is endless.

I shall return...

I love the thinking process here... and how some photos can have a different purpose for all... and also how photos and the visuals can play with our minds diversely...

It's truly amazing.

~Beautiful day... everyone.

Love,
Julie

AUTUMN LEAVES

"Autumn leaves fall and are swept out of sight,
The words that you said have come true.
Autumn leaves fall and are swept out of sight,
So is the memory of love that we knew.

The wind of forgetfullness blows them
Into the night of regret.
The song we so often did sing,
Is echoing echoing yet.

The falling leaves,
Drift by the window.
The autumn leaves of red and gold.
I see your lips,
The summer kisses,
The sunburned hands I used to hold.

Since you went away,
The days grow long,
And soon I'll hear cold winter song.
But I miss you most of all, my darling,
When autumn leaves start to fall."

Beautiful song, get your hands on the Coldcut version, it's very nice. So is the Irresistible Force ambient remix.

kiss2 Unfortunately here in Phoenix or areas just outside Phoenix... we do not experience the various colors of Fall. Yes, indeed the leaves fall from the trees... although the brightness of color hue does not. Now, if one goes North where the climate is cooler... we can get a hint of Fall wonders.

Nature is so beautiful... yes. rose
