Do you take Vitimans?

I take many supplements:

Ester C
B12
Vitiman E
CoQ10
Food Ezymes
Biotin
Beta Carotene

It's funny how people react when I tell them that take vitimans. They often tell me "that's going too make you sick"

I wonder why people react in such a way. I have been using supplements on a daily basis for almost four years now -- and I'm not sick yet.

What vitimans do you take and why?

I have been taking vitamins for years, I do occasionally get sick, but not like a person who does'nt take vitamins, next time you should ask them if they get sick.

Estroven ( to reduce Menapause-it is Soy,Balck Cohosh,& estrovEN)
Vitamin E (1,000IU's dry skin)
Coral Calcium ( just cuz it's got everything)
& when I feel a little sickly, Euchanacia & Silver biotics

i take a B complex supplement, because i am vegetarian, and need vitamin b

i take glucosomine, for some joint issues that i have in my right knee....it helps keep the cartilidge strong, and allows me to excercise without killing myself giggle shits expensive though damn!! biggrin

i take vitamin C if i feel a cold coming on....

i dont take them all on a daily basis...just because i dont want my system to build up immunities to them (well exceot for the glucosimine...because its beneficial to ahve as much of a build as possible...thats what keeps the cartildge strong)

Multi vit A-Z, vit E 400IU, 2 x 1gr vit C...sometimes some vit B complex, though I really want injectable B12, but that's not something you can just get over here. confused

Also using 40mg zinc per day. You do have to be careful with fat soluble vitamins like A and D as well as minerals. Over dosing those can get you sick. Other than that supplementing with vitamins is not going to hurt you.

Can someone recommend a vitamin brand that doesn't upset the stomach? I want to take vitamins but I don't because they make me feel sick in my stomach. Maybe that's what someone meant when they said they might make you sick. I haven't found a multivitamin that doesn't turn my stomach into knots.

Generally, I don't take a multivitamin -- I take the ones i listed separately. The Vit C (Ester C ) is buffered. Regular Vit C turns my stomach. I think it is the "hard tablet" vits that upset your stmach. I use SISU brand Vitimans where I can. THe rest I make sure that they are in "powder" capsule form. Try a search on Sisu vitiamins

Time-released vit C is not very effective though.

Vitamin C.

Everyone at work seem to be sick all the time (cold symtoms). I had a hard time taking a vit c tablet, so I started eating "chewables". They work!!! I havent been sick, with a cold at least.

Oh Yeah... been a vitamin freak for about 5 years now.

P5P, calcium citrate, magnesium glycinate,l-tyrosine, ester C, B12, pro-biotics, L-carnitine, chromium picolinate, a good multi vitamin/mineral supplement, Flax oil, biotin, choline 7 inisotol.... to name a few... also on some herbals... in a bio-green drink- aka grass juice. garlic, cayenne.....

never got sick from it- it actually made me healthier...I don't get any more sinus infections and very very few colds- was borderline diabetic...not anymore! smile

for those of u whose tummies can't handle straight vitamins try to get a cheleted form....or see your local heatlfood store or the book perscription for nutritional healing.

You need to eat food when you take them, hon.

I take:

Vitamin C
Multi-Vitamin
Calcium/Magnesium
Chromium
Omega-3 and Omega-6 essential fatty acids
Folic Acid

Boy...I really do a lot of acid! eek

i take a multivitamin and a cod liver oil supplement. my mother just to make me take all kinds of vitamins when i was growing up so in rebellion I didn't take any for years. i was fine for a while but then i started to experience such an enormous drain on my energy that i started taking them again and it;s made such a difference. the cod liver oil has helped with my dry skin. now i glow. sun

too many vitamins can weaken your kidneys, though. especially if you don;t take them with enough water. too much iron and zinc can kill ya dead since they're toxic in large amounts. in smaller amounts they just cause stomach upset and acne. but if you take vitamins like a normal person and not like some health freak who wants to solely survive on supplements and water, then you should be fine.

Actually zinc can help prevent or reduce acne, but you're right. Multi vitamins and mineral do add stress to the kidneys and liver.

I think too many vitamins can make you illiterate ! lol Just kidding.
It´s not the zinc that causes acne, it´s probably too much vitamin B ( either as niacin or B12).
Too much betacarotene is also not recommendable since it might increase the risk to develop lung cancer if you´re a smoker. I take biotin, chelated zinc followed by vitamin B 6 , moderate amounts of vitamin C and I drink lots of carrot juice. Ginseng is also a great energizer, especially if your ginseng tonic contains some additional B 12.
" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I take a vitamin supplement with half of all needed vitamins and minerals plus extra vitamin C every day. But I have to, 'cause I'm allergic to fruits and raw vegetables. It's my only way to get all my needed vitamins.
