Okay, a couple of months ago I reported about WB wanting to do a "whacky, zany comedy" version of the Green Lantern starring Jack Black. Well, the internet uproar over that one apparently caused the suits at WB to rethink that one. Officially, they deny there ever was such a project, but that's just them trying to save face over such a BAD idea.

Well, they didn't learn. Despite fans being pissed at bad ideas like that one, and the box-office disaster of Catwoman (not to mention the POSITIVE reaction from fans over the good treatments they are giving Batman & Superman), they still want to defecate all over classic, iconic characters. Here's the story:



Yeah, that's what we need. Lets just take a big ol' dump on this character, since he's not as popular as the others!

someones really needs to take all these movie rights away from WB, they are screwing up and its upsetting me lol

Obviously they haven't taken note of Aquaman in comics since his stint on the Superfriends tv show 20+ years ago.

Good Lord they need to stop. As if isn't bad enough they've butchered the Fantastic Four (Jessica Alba as....Sue Richards?!!) I'll admit Alba's hot but she's not right for the role.
If they want comedy, then do something with Blue Beetle and Booster Gold (JLI anyone?) WHY do they want to shoot themselves in the foot? This Aquaman "movie" sounds like it's going to tank even before they start.

Man...remember when DC made the good comic book movies and Marvel made the crappy ones?

Also to add to this lists and topics of comic movies that should not be made....Am I the only one who thinks the Fantastic 4 movie is a terrible idea? I mean good comics with great stories get cancelled all the time but the fucking Fantastic 4 with the same cast and the same bullshit stories keeps on trucking along.....I mean how long can you keep rehashing the same stories, never killing any main characters, ALWAYS using the same methods to win battles. I mean why make a movie? I saw that gawd awful one in the 90's and even if it was good they won't get the casting right I know Marvel.....I just feel bad for Dr Doom.....He is one of the all time great villains and he must be associated with characters that are beneath him.

For me and by the way this is all my opinion the FF is much like Superman....They are so dominant and unstoppable and writers are so unwilling to change the formula or if they do they never stick with it, that the characters and stories suck! They just keep rehashing the same old shit over and over.....Maybe Im ranting cause they cancelled Thanos's new series and Capatain Marvel but the fucking FF keep on going.....

Oh, and I agree with you on Captain Marvel, but I'm glad to see Thanos' series end. He hasn't been interesting since "The Death Of Captain Marvel". Nowadays, he's nothing but a second-rate Darkseid rip-off.

Thanks man! I did like Thanos in the late seventies and early eighties, but more often than not I think he's overdone. I did really dig the story that Mark Waid did with him in Ka-Zar in the late 90s. (Just the weirdness of having Thanos face off against Ka-Zar was what made it work.)

I'm totally in agreement about Peter David's Captain Marvel, which was one of the best series on the market. Hopefully, it won't be the last that David is able to write about Genis and Rick Jones. At least his "Fallen Angel" series at DC is still going.
