that's right fellow orgers! i spent yesterday with heiress and her beautiful daughter! for those of you who may not know, heiress lives in france, but she used to live in omaha. she is here visiting her family, and with her only two hours away, how could i pass up the opportunity to meet her in person?

we had a wonderful time! i met heiress and her neice at Panera's, then we went to the mall to shop for baby shoes. (by the way, heiress has impeccable taste in clothes!!) and guess what happened at the mall? her neice was saying that some friends of her's were coming from another town to spend the afternoon with her, and they were bringing another friend, and when they showed up at the mall, this third friend was a guy i've known for about 10 years!! it's such a small world!!

so after the mall we went to eat at Blue Sushi Sake Grill. this was the second time i'd tried sushi, but the first was sooo long ago it was like my first time all over again! and i loved it!! i had miso soup and the small sushi platter, and i got veggie rolls for my daughter, and my daughter and heiress's shared edamame, a soy bean appetizer. i love sushi!!

after supper we skipped gaily in the parking lot, and just had a bunch of fun in general. so, here's some pics from our day. sorry for the quality, they were taken with my camera phone, and there wasn't good lighting once the sun went down and we had to rely on the parking lot lights.

this waiter was such a FLIRT!! he was rubbing heiress's arm when they were discussing the wine list, he rubbed my arm when i was ordering too! he even flirted with the babies! i was like, whoa dude, you're gettin a tip, don't worry!


this is the devil car!! one of the friends that we met to eat with was using her roommates car. and it died!! we had to go back and try to jumpstart it, and even then it didn't work. so we waited a little with her and frolicked in the parking lot.

sounds crazy, but it really felt as if me & fantasy were old, old friends, even though we had just met. (might be what life in NE does to people ). she is an awesome, awesome person, and her daughter is just pinchably cute. our girls could be sisters; they look that much alike (except that baby fantasy is going to no doubt be as impressively tall as her mama). and yes, i was so glad to hear that prince - i usually pack CDs but this time around i had so much baby stuff for one month that music kind of got lost in the packing shuffle.

hey babe, you KNOW we're going to be getting together again, whenever i'm out here next. i want the babies to see each other as much as possible. and who knows, one of these days you might make your way over to france for some mysterious reason.

we'll hit all the other sushi places in omaha, meanwhile! another person has told me all about the good places.

it was midnight when i dropped you off, and i forgot to ask you how to get out of town fastest. (remember, i had gotten lost on my way into town and ended up going all the way to 72nd st? so i didn't want to go the same way, b/c it was waaaay out of my way.) but i couldn't call because my phone was dead, and i had forgotten my phone charger at home. so, i turned right on center thinking that there would be signs directing me to the interstate. obviously there weren't.

when i got outside of omaha, and saw the signs saying i was on my way to wahoo and fremont i decided to turn back around. when i got back into town it looked like 192nd was a major street, so i turned right. (cuz i knew I-80 was in that general direction.) but that was all residential area, so when i saw some other cars heading into town i just turned left and followed them.

i can't remember if it was 168th or 144th, but i turned right again and just kept going. the road i was on turned into millard rd, and it finally dumped me off on the interstate!! i wanted to cheer, but i didn't b/c anelia was asleep in the back.

so it was about 12:30 when i got started home. remember, i had told you that i hadn't gotten to bed till 3am the night before . . . so i was singing along to my radio trying to keep awake. a few miles before i hit york i was half asleep and almost rearended a guy who was slowing down to turn into a rest area!! that scared me awake pretty good, and when i got to york i stopped and bought some ginseng energy tablets, water, and some eye drops to keep me awake. so then i was fine the rest of the way home, but it was 3am before i got home, and 3:30 by the time i got to sleep!!!! i was SOOOOO tired when anelia woke me up at 9am sunday morning!!

yeah, so i think next time i go to omaha i'm gonna buy a map!
