This teeny picture does not do this giant amongst sandwiches justice, it is a true monster at nearly a thousand calories ( I just looked that up!!).

I have had three this week, and it's only thursday (and I haven't had lunch yet). People, please help me, tell me an equally tasty alternative that isn't going to have me weighing 20 stone in a month. Why'd they have to have a subway right near my new office .

A (slightly) healthier (but not as satisfying) alternative might be a Ham/Salami/cheese/salad sub on Cheese & Herb bread with Southwest sauce. Personally I just go for the Ham without the salami, and just have tomato, lettuce and pickle, rather than all the salad stuff. It's not quite as mouth-wateringly delicious as the meatball, but it's pretty fucking good (and about half the calories, even less if you forgo the cheese).

Try it with bacon!

i used to eat the veggies and cheese subs all the time, with jalapeno chips and a dr. pepper. loved it. then i got all kinds of burned out on that meal and i can't eat it anymore.
