I've Got Something to SAAAYYYYY!!! I am back from Burning Man safe and sound. Clean, fed and slightly rested. Visions of playa dust are still in my head.
Pre Playa MJ Eeee-Heees – BF just NOT getting it together with any of the things we had to do. This has been an extension of many things for him lately. And it was driving me NUTS…to the point of almost not wanting to go. But by 7pm on Tues we were ready, but had to get money before heading out to the desert… as last I recall there were no ATM’s anywhere near the event. We parked by the bank and a few things shifted in the back. Instead of checking what shifted, my BF opened the trunk and my whole kitchen fell out on the street…hard boiled eggs and all. I was fit to be tied. That was followed by a LONG drive and a very short “sleep” in the car once we got there. I found out that my “freezer” melted and my popsicles (GREAT for the desert) had melted all over everything. Needless to say I had to drop the ‘tude quick or I wasn’t having any of it. We got our tent and shade up and I went walking, found my friends who moved to Portland and the attitude was gone. Good times! Best camps were the chill ones. Not necessarily because I like that type of music, but because most of them were in enclosed camps (it was cold out at night) and the dance music TRIED too hard. 80’s and 70’s hits were bigger than dull soulless dance music. One chill tent was playing Joni…so it was all good. Other Cool camps: Dodge Ball camp, Barbie Death Camp, Punani Trim Parlor and Orange Camp. Oh and Sanctuary was the best village. All chill. They had a white echo dome with l.e.d lights in a grid under plastic. It created some really cool visuals and was touch sensitive. There was this camp right by us that played the best Psy-Trance one evening (better than anything major on the playa). I got to play there during the next day. Looked nice on the outside but it was 63rd and Cottage Grove ghetto style on the inside…with a blowup dirty pool and sheets and tarps on the ground. Come to think of it a lot of Domes and camps were like that this year…you’d walk in em and walk right out. But I played anyhoo, and someone came up to me and said that that was the best music they had heard on the playa so far. That was awesome and it made my trip for me. Punani Trim Parlor Princey Playa Thing: It’s gonna be a beautiful night…played on the playa and was played loud. Thing I didn’t think I was going to like, but did: Pickle Cocktail. Um I craved one of these suckers after I got home. All it is is P Juice and Tabasco. It’s actually quite tasty! Best memory: My friend brought a wheel chair and a megaphone. Um…many shenanagins ensued…especially when Michelle got drunk on Whisky. Mr Megaphone had to be taken away. I had a chance to get in the wheelchair and be pushed. I gave so many people shit for staring at a cripple shouting in a wheel chair. Told many to lick my stumps and just be happy they have legs to walk on. And be happy I am stuck in this damn chair or I’d have to whoop some ass. We got to the Temple (a major attraction on the playa) and Vicky Volunteer comes running up offering to push me and asks if I need wheelchair access. I looked to my left to Michelle who was very jealous that I had the power of wheelchair accessibility…I looked my right to my friend Tammy who gave me the you’re going to hell look…and took a deep breath and sighed (I was TORN) chose to tell Vicky Volunteer that I did not need the special access. the Temple Michelle Dirty Slut in a Wheel Chair Overall my experience was very pleasant. My BF and I reconnected and talked about stuff. The weather for the most part was…actually beautiful. Especially after Thursday…it was all good. I was amazed as it was really windy and dusty Wed and Thursday. Not as much art as there was last year, but I didn’t explore it all like I had, but it was evident there was less art. The major camps were a lot smaller too. Our camp was very loose and not as community structured as it was last year. Really what I enjoyed the most was hanging with my friends at the GHOP (G is for ghetto). Which was very popular (making free pancakes…can’t get better than that.) We had a buffet Brunch on Sunday in which I got rid of a lot of my food…thanks to Michelle and the Megaphone. I know long rant, but I wanted to get this outta my head. Christian Zombie Vampires

Sounds like a blast-I saw a special on it on TV not too long ago and always felt bad for not going.
Glad to see Amy Sedaris is still going strong on your avatar, man-love her.

There was this crazy song Michelle was singing about balling a girl or something like that. I thought she made it up (she does that too) until someone else came from another camp and chimed in. Thanks! I find sharing experiences creates a better read sometimes than "Prince Bar Open". I had a digital camera this year. Sigh...while taking non-stop great photos..I also had to keep it safe...so not that many pics were taken. I also ventured out more at night and my BF insisted that I switch to a smaller Back Pack and digital cams are very expensive...not something I'd like to lose (which is EASY to do in the pitch dark/sand/chaos/inubriated state one might be. They actually have some great pics at www.burningman.com, and while pretty and amazing, personal stories about what they are, really bring them to life. Like my friend once told me about how she ran after a cat bus and when she finally got to it it was all plush and soft inside. When I finally saw the pic online, I instantly knew that was the art car she was talking about. Christian Zombie Vampires
