3 times since 1999. They test you as a matter of routine when you are pregnant, as well as for HepB, rubella, syphilis, anaemia etc. It's a good thing. | |

Sexually active gay men should also get a flu shot once a year, hep a, b & c shots twice a year as well as the full gammet of std tests when u get your HIV tests done. Or so muh doctor tells me.
I'm confused. Second, I've been vaccinated against Hepatitis B. It's not a single shot--rather, you get three shots over a period of six months. And my doctor told me that once you've received the entire series, it is believed that you're protected indefinitely. True, although the at-home tests (at least, the ones available in the U.S.) cost about $45 at a minimum. When I lived in Indianapolis, the local health department offered free, anonymous HIV testing. As I recall, I was asked to make up a pseudonym for signing the required paperwork, and I was otherwise identified solely by a number. They never asked for my real name. The anonymous clinic did require that you receive your results in-person; however, when I called to ask if the results were back from the lab, the employee's tone of voice suggested that everything was fine, so I was pretty sure going in that I tested negative.
