Cartoons!

Tell me your favorite cartoons! It can be anything.

Any era, shows you watched as a kid, shows you got into later, or if you have kids shows you watch with them.

My favorites:

Futurama-Great animation, writing, voice actors, a classic.

Invader Zim-Chaos and insanity at it's best-gotta love GIR.

Space Ghost Coast to Coast-Brak is my favorite.

Pinky and the Brain-My number one "Where is the DVD?" I loved this show, Maurice La Marche (Great voice actor-played Brain, Egon on Real Ghostbusters, and has been on probably a lot of your favorite cartoons.)

Freakazoid-Loved it, why isn't it on DVD?

Animaniacs-same as above.

Ren and Stimpy-Billy West, a guy you've heard on Futurama, as the Honey Nut Cherrios bee, he does a lot of tv and cartoon work-he did both voices. I miss this.

Real Ghostbusters-I was big into Ghosbusters when I was a kid, this show was great before they made it Slimer and the Real Ghostbusters. Had all the toys.

Beavis and Butt-head-Need I say more?

Aeon Flux-More in the vein of anime, great stuff.

Muppet Babies-Bunsen Honeydew and Beaker made this show what it was.

Mysterious Cities of Gold-A little more obscure, but a very cool show I remember watching as a kid on Nickelodeon, spanish in origin, hard to find.

Garfield and Friends-Great show, with the U.S. Acres stuff in there too.

Super Friends-I had the toys.

Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist-This really should be on DVD, great comics, great writing, and animation that made you wonder if you were having a mild seizure.

South Park-Still holds up. The episode with Robert Smith (Mecha-Streisand) will always be my favorite.

Family Guy-Coming back next year with new episodes, and a show that to me is more popular than you'd think given the writing. Cool stuff.

Add on to that Looney Tunes (especially Marvin the Martian appearances), and probably tons of stuff I'm forgetting.

Anybody else?

Of all shows, how could I forget THE SIMPSONS! I'm an addict. I love The Simpsons. Here I get all caught up on wanting to name my favorite obscure shows.

The Simpsons I think used to be better though. It's still one of my favorite shows but it seems like the writing had more heart and weight years ago. Now it seems to be based more in the guest celebrity voices of the week, but I still love it.

I just watch it in syndication more.

Ralph Wiggum is my muse though.

i also did a big part in JACOB TWO TWO, which is called JACOB DUBBEL in dutch.

i am a newbie in the business, so these are my only major roles (yet). i do a lot of supporting voices however: little children crying and laughing, lots of people shouting, and animals as well wink

it's a nice job, but it's hard and usually it needs to be done as quick as possible because studio time is expensive.

i wish i was in DEXTER'S LABORATORY however, that is my favourite.

Great show!

That's really cool that you do that-have you heard of Billy West, Maurice La Marche, Tress MacNeille or Frank Welker?

They're all big in the business over here-all on various cartoons-Frank Welker is popular cause of being able to do any animal noise you can think of-the guy is amazing to hear. They call him whenever they need an animal noise for a cartoon or movie.

Billy West is probably the most well known voice actor here-from Ren and Stimpy, Futurama, Cheerios, he's the Red M & M as well.

Check out Billy's site too-maybe you can ask him some voice acting questions? He posts on there.

ah thanks ! cool, will check it out.

i am supported and trained by one of the dutch best female voice actors.

she is so good, that sometimes when they need to 'repair' voices (for example when they forgot to record a line and the actress already finished the sessions) she sometimes does it, and you cannot hear it's her. she is also very good at doing accents and improvs.

the work is so cool, especially when seeing the recording back and seeing that the character is 'alive' because of your voice.

Very cool!! biggrin

Sounds like the person you've trained with is a lot like Tress MacNeille. She's done female voices on Futurama, The Simpsons, many others shows.

Another website you might want to check out is:

http://www.voicestarz.com

A lot of well known voice actors have video clips/post on there and I've noticed it has instruction on there. I'm big into animation, so I like knowing who does what.

Hope it helps!

I swear I've heard of that Finess, just never seen it.

Now I'm dying to. I'm sure it's not even on DVD yet.

Any more details? I'll have to look at the Internet Movie Database.
