Have you been to the Grand Canyon? I'm thinking of planning a weekend trip this month for my birthday. Any suggestions for hotel accomodations? Things to do? I'm totally clueless, haven't even begun to search for tourist sites. Can someone suggest a good tourist site as well? | |

 I've been and it really is awesome. If you have the chance you really should go. It kinda leaves you speechless you can't believe what you're seeing and photos don't do it justice! You're just  and  at the whole thing!!!if you've gotta pay for things that you've done wrong I've gotta big bill coming at the end of the day- Gil Scott Heron

I have been a couple of times once to the south rim and once to the north rim. If you can stand the drive the North rim was infinitely better (IMHO). We camped right on the side of the canyon sunset and sunrise left me speechless. It is also much less touristy on the north side. South side was good though but that was my first time and that pretty much leaves you speechless whichever point of the compass you are looking from like I said more tourists, the visitor centre, and busier hiking trails.
Next year I plan to hike down, camp at the bottom at Phantom Ranch and hike back up the other side the next day – can’t wait! Happy is he who finds out the causes for things.Virgil (70-19 BC). Virgil was such a lying bastard! | |
