Do you mean "never met in person" or are you referring to falling in love with someone on tv or in a magazine? When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

same here...I kinda got to know someone (and started to REALLY fall for them) and it turned out I had the total wrong idea (at least I think I did, anyway, he never did open up to me ) You're also very right about things you don't know about someone...you can get to know someone online/on the phone and then spend an hour with someone and not get along with them in real life...it happens I still believe in love, tho, in all forms

[Edited 9/2/04 16:21pm] OK...u cant just change the question.... "can u love someone u've never met?" to "do u?" [Edited 9/2/04 16:23pm] "Nobody makes me bleed my own blood...NOBODY!"

Although I had a girlfriend I met over the internet once, I'm extremely sceptical of the idea of falling in love with someone you've never met. I think the distinction is that you can fall in love with the perception you have of someone you never met.
You see their pics, probably talked on the phone, etc. All the while you are forming an image in your head and every new bit of information you get through new pics or conversation adds to that perceived personality. Online relationships are the reverse of real life relationships. In real life, you see someone and say "Wow. That is a person I want to know better." You get to know them and if anything turns you off, it's game over. Your attraction is purely physical. You know absolutely nothing about them, but you decide you want to know them. Now online, you get to know their emotional/personal side first. You get to like that person more and more so you think it is love. Then you meet in person and it's not there. That's the difference.

You can think you love someone.
You can swear it's real. People talk themselves into love all the time, but there's different levels. Quiet couples that have been married for years and years that only communicate on anniversaries how much they care-that's love. People that have just been married that can't keep their hands off each other-that's love too. Love and lust get confused a lot I think though. There's a line, and you realize later than you should I think sometimes if there was something actually real. All I know is music is my love-and my penguin.
