TOS: Cheesy by today's standards, but incredibly innovative for its time. Great characters, and you have to get a big kick out of Shatner's over-acting.

TNG: Started off slow, but by the third season it was kicking all kinds of ass!!! Great show!

DS9: Like TNG, it started slow, but built into the best show of the franchise. It incorporated story elements from TOS, TNG and Voyager, making for a more cohesive universe. Oh, and the war with The Dominion? Classic stuff!!

Voyager: Sucked shit through a straw! Most of the characters I couldn't give a shit about (why couldn't they have blown Neelix's annoying ass out of the airlock??) and the writing was simply re-hashing old TOS & TNG scripts. About the only thing that made it halfway watchable was Seven Of Nine, but even the T&A couldn't hold my interest.

Enterprise: bored

Oh, let's not forget the films:

ST-TMP: Should have been called "The Motion-LESS Picture". Fairly dull, and the script simply rehashes an episode of the TV series. (the director's cut does improve the film quite a bit though).

WOK: "KHAAAAAN!!!! One of the best of the films, with the greatest screen villian since Darth Vader! Spock's death scene is incredible.

SFS: A boring battle on a planet of styrofoam rocks, against The Reverend Jim Ignatouski in a Klingon outfit. neutral

TVH: "Captain, there be WHALES here". A fun romp, with some great "fish out of water" moments with the crew in the late 80s!

TFF: Who told Shatner he could direct??? One of the worst pieces of shit ever commited to celluloid!! Kirk vs God??? Should've been called "The Search For Shatner's Ego"

TUC: Worth watching just for Kim Cattrall as the traitorous Lt Valeris

Generations: Picard cries, Kirk dies. Just about sums it up. Not a bad flick, but not terribly great either. This is the "passing of the torch" film to the TNG cast, but it jsut lacks any real substance. (Worth watching for the Enterprise D's crash scene, though!)

FC: Yeaaaahaaaw! This is the TNG cast's "Wrath Of Khan". The Borg are actually quite menacing, and the action is flawless. The film definitely takes a nod from the first two "Alien" films with its tone (the dark menace of Ridley Scott's original, combined with the action of Cameron's sequel), but that is a GOOD thing!

Insurrection: bored The crew takes on some wrinkly faced dudes fighting for a planet that is the fountain of youth (or some such shit). Fairly unremarkable, in ever possible way. Would have made a mediocre episode of the series.

Nemesis: Not bad, but nothing we haven't seen before. Pretty much uses the "Wrath Of Khan" formula, but without the same effect.

The pacing was tightened up quite a bit, and some exterior shots of V'ger & The Enterprise were added. Nothing too major, but it is certainly better than the theatrical cut.

Thank god they sped up the pacing of the ride into V-Ger.

I met good ole Troy and Q at my university back in the day when they were doing seminars.

Sci Fi doesn't really have a cult audience here in Israel. sad

My friends also met Q. He was at the Homecomming of Kent State. He is an alumnus of Kent. They said that all he did was talk shit and get drunk. They had to drag him to his hotel.

I agree on all accounts. nod

I have to disagree with TSFS, though. It was a little slow, but I thought it was better than people give it credit for.

What in gods name makes you think that half ass crew of Voyager would last one day on DS9 or against the Jemhidar (don't know how to spell it) DS9 fought wars! Voyager ohhh they got lost big whoop!

falloff

Yeah, but the writing was better! Did you ever see "Faces"? That was incredible!

Ahem...

Watch "The Visitor", "In the Pale Moonlight", "Far Beyond the Stars", among others. The writers on DS9 were more talented than the writers on Voyager, IMHO.

Hey thats pretty cool that you got to meet alot of the Star Trek actors/actresses. From what I'am able to infer, you must have attended some of the conventions. How do you like them? I have been fascinated with ST for many years . Perhaps, I may check out a convention and the ST exhibit in Las Vegas.

Yeah, I used to do the conventions religiously. Creation Conventions have stopped coming to Minneapolis, though, so I haven't been to one in a few years. I've heard many good things from the "Star Trek: The Experience" set-up in Vegas, but I haven't been able to get there myself. One day.... smile

I've seen her twice. VERY funny person! The guy I was with was practically drooling when he saw her. During the Q&A session, I almost asked if she had a sister because my friend here really really wants to know. lol He just about crapped his pants because he didn't know if I was serious about asking or not.

From all the interviews I've read and seen she does seem like she's hilarious.

Can't say I blame your friend-you should've asked! I'm sure he'd be thanking ya still.
