Nope. Still I, Robot cover, but I am off today. If it is out, I'll put one aside for you tomorrow.

Thanks, let me now when you've got it.

I loved this book! Great action and suspense...although I had a problem with the ending.
I don't want to give anything away, but you'll see what I mean.

I agree with Whateva, Angels and Demons is also an incredible book. Where
The Da Vinci Code deals with the secret society priory, who worship the feminine side vs the
male dominated church of today, Angels and Demons focuses on science vs
the church. The Big Bang theory vs Creation...etc.
I found Angels and Demons a little more entertaining...

Right now, I'm in the middle of Digital Fortress, yet another Dan Brown novel.
I guess you can say he's my favorite author at the moment...lol
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I'm skipping through this post because I'm reading it NOW! Hope to finish it today. However, I had an idea of what the Holy Grail was and I knew what that mysterious writing was as soon as I saw it (I'm sure many readers picked up on it too). I didn't buy Langdon not picking that up immediately, but I realize why Dan Brown didn't make it obvious.

Can't wait to finish the book so I can add my extra 2 cents. biggrin

IstenSzek is right. The Da Vinci Code uncovers no new territory as early Christian theory goes. It rather serves as a good FICTION composite of many, many earlier works -- some fiction, some scholarly.

Either way, it's an exciting read (better than its precursor, Angels & Demons, which has a great premise, but too much fat), and while readers shouldn't take as (counter-) gospel all of what Brown is conjecturing (he takes much literary license here), it's a great springboard from which needed conversation about religious history might begin.

...I heard Ron Howard will be doing the film adaptation.

It was a good read and very interesting, but being an agnostic, I didn't believe a word of it. Very fast paced work of fiction and full of suspense too.

If it's ever made into a movie (I couldn't help imagining this as I read it) I see Milla Jovovich playing Sofie Neveu. Teabing's character brings a bit of humor. He's a trip.

I'm curious as to what it's all about. A girl I met on holiday was reading it. I'm not very religious you see so I'm wondering whether I'd find it an interesting read.

You should definitively read it. Its a great book. I couldn't put it down and I don't beleive in God.

It isn't popular for nothing, you know. It's not a GREAT book, but at least it's a good thriller

Anyone reading this? read it?

I am still reading it, but find it thrilling, exciting and fascinating.

Have you drawn any of your own conclusions to what Dan Brown is saying? smile
