FOR US FANS!!! NEED HONEST OPINION!!! In about 7 months time my family and I are emigrating back 2 the USA, possibly Colorado, and I would really love some of u guys honest opinion as 2 the employment situation over in the USA right now!! My husband is a welder/fabricator!! Is the work situation secure nationwide(even though we are heading for Colorado)??

It really depends on what state you're moving to, and how close to a big city you'll be.

Fucking England!!!!! 
Its just that we just dont want 2 go from one bad situation right into another!!! My husband was hired on 2day and let go 2day!!! They said it was nothing 2 do with his work or anything, its just the shitty work ethics they have here!!!! He works through employment agencies and was told of this job yesterday, so we went out for a "dummy run" just 2 get an idea of the route as it was a long way and also 2 get an idea of the job and the boss at this firm said that they were looking for someone on a permanent basis and after a welding test they asked him 2 start 2morrow(2day)!! Well...I'm in Detroit and the job situation here sucks. I was just laid off from my job last month.
My sister lives in Florida, however, and she said the economy is good down there. Plus, I think Texas, along with some other southern states, is doing pretty well. | |

I am in Colorado...
I guess it depends on where you are gonna live.... In Denver the job market is ok... But, as a welder he should have no problem finding work.. ^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^

This year has been the worse year for us, particularly Joe(my husband), Also what is making it worse is that this year he turned 50 and over here once u reach that age u are virtually put on the scrap heap, in favour of younger workers, but the thing is firms cant find younger people cos they just dont want 2 take up skills and trades like my husband has now cos basically this country is full of lazy bastards!! They all want 2 do their glorified pissy office jobs, where they get paid for doing the least amount of work!!! At least thats what its like here!! So, really manufacturing firms are gonna end up in a lot of shit, cos of letting go of people just because they reach 50!!! | |

Here in Texas (Dallas) the job market is pretty stagnant. I have a jobby job though.
Anywhere you move to is gonna have some point that the job market is bad, and right now I think it's still slowly getting back to being better, but for right now it's pretty bad. I'm sure people are taking applications, but the US is different whichever state you visit. Don't hold your breath. ...or you'll pass out.

Situations like this are always shitty but just remember the old addage that the grass is always greener. Be carefull moving from one situation to another similar one, pluss feature in the cost of emigrating and that is one helluva lot of work is gonna be needed to pay for that. It could be that your husband is just blaming England because there is no-one else to blame. I Blamed America when I worked there and it was the best job I ever had.
