somewhat--i had my share of barbies and my little pony dolls, but i also had tons of hot wheels and matchbox cars that i'd play with. i used to watch thundercats, he-man and g.i.joe all the time and play transformers with the kids next door. to this day i'm still very tomboyish.

Wow! I had this conversation with a friend a couple of days ago.

When I was younger, I loved playing with boys! I guess I would consider myself a tomboy back then. I think even now, I'm in touch with my inner boy. I tend to feel that I'm not a girly girl. When I was younger I played with dolls and other girly toys and never desired boy's toys (although my mom was once given a "Johnny Lightening" racing car set that my sisters and I played with).

I'm not sure how to explain this without bringing up sexist stereotypes but.... I wear make up only on special occasions. (I had a guy friend named, of all things "Kim" who hated seeing women in make up. He called it "war paint.") I like my hair short. I'm not a damsel in distress; I like figuring things out/problem solving. If something isn't working properly, I'm on the case. I'm very independent. I don't feel that I HAVE to me married. (I've been with my boyfriend FOREVER, so it's kind of like being married anyway.) I'm not very domesticated either. He tends to think I should want to do the things women are expected to. (This always burns me up.) Like it's supposed to be in my DNA to like housework! Ugh! I'm not into decorating. I HATE shopping for clothes and shoes.

I like sports. I especially love baseball. love Funny, but I realize that I can't getting into watching women play sports like basketball (although I'm not a fan of the sport, I'd much rather watch Vince Carter and Chris Webb dribbling) or softball. There's something very romantic about baseball, and I associate that romancism with the men who play it. At baseball forums though, I sometimes think I have to check my femininity at the log on. Women sometimes get pounced on by the men on the forum who think we're only into the sport to gawk at players. sad

I don't have kids, but if desired them, I would want a son.

It's weird because my friends now....who didn't know me then....can't imagine I was a tomboy because they think I'm a prissy girl lol

I used to have this pale blue plastic ferrari that I used to take to bed, and carry with me everywhere I went. When my mum gave me her old doll's house it became home to all my matchbox racers. They used to drive up and down the stairs, and they were boys if they had towbars!
My sister and I had tons of barbies, I spray painted one completely black with auto touch up paint and she kind of melted and her hair was just one big clump. Unfortunately the paint never dried so we threw her over the back fence.
I guess that makes a me a tomboy. I never wore pink in my life, nor jewellery or hair decorations.
