There's been some talk of sarcasm. What do you think of it? Personally I'm a fan of sarcasm, I'm not talking about sarcasm that can be hurtful or is intended to demean, but as a humourous quip, I love it.*
Any thoughts? *not when it's mean spirited. ... [This message was edited Sat Aug 28 2:58:54 2004 by Lleena] [This message was edited Sat Aug 28 3:14:22 2004 by Lleena]

i don't like making other people feel bad hello I've been on the receiving end and have been sarcastic myself, I'm not talking about making people feel bad Lolly but making em laugh. I don'tmind being on the receiving end, actually i very often am in my circle of friends but thats cause they know i can take it. I think the problem his sarcasm is that there is a fine line between funny and mean and it depends on the person your using it agains't. What one person will interperate as funny could deeply offend someone else. look at me being serious, there has to be something wrong with me today

You have to be careful in that the person you are using it on knows your intentions are not to be mean. I can tell the difference between funny and offensive, but like you said, it is subjective and open to interpretation. It's a form of wit that I can appreciate when done well.

i've said it before, but it irritates me when people say, "sarcasm is the lowest form of wit."
do these people not understand that whoever said that, was being sarcastic?
