I was looking at my yearbook and this struck me as funny While at the grocery store I ran into a girl I had dated a couple of tim back in high school and I couln't remember her name so I dug out my high school yearbooks to look her up. After finding her I browsed through my yearbook and came across something that I had written to document music in 1990.
Under a picture of Madonna I wrote: The members of Tartan's junior class have very different musical preferences, ranging from oldies to rap to pop to hard rock. M.C. Hammer's "You Can't Touch This, " Madonna's "Vogue," and Poison's "Something To Believe In" seemed to satisfy the varying musical tastes.
The release of movies like "Ghose" and "Young Guns II" also produced popular songs, such as the released "Unchained Melody" (The Righteous Brothers, and "Blaze of Glory" (Bon Jovi). Despite the controversy over the banning of certain types of music, these artists have remained strong and overcame this barrier. It is very clear that 1990 has been the best year yet for the music industry. The last line is a bold statement, but I would go as far as to say that it still rings true even today 
For the record I had included "Grafitti Bridge" in the second graph but apparantly they cut it because the editor had never heard of the movie (imagine that). In fact they edited so much out that it doesn't even make any sense. They reference something in the third graph and that are not incuded in the blurb. I'm glad they didn't give me a writing credit. Also, I'm not certain if it was the editors or me who didn't have any idea how to use a comma. | |
