dump computer/internet question #3 ... alright you orgers always have "some answers" to everything computer related !
i got this relatively new sony laptop ... bring it into my office today (everyone is gone .... so i am manning the helm .... and ...i figured i could attempt to download some music... ) i have a DSL connection at home ... normally --- i just hook my laptop into the telephone NIK card thingy ... and poof !!! i am online .... but here ... nooooo ... it wont work .... now here at the office we have all the computers i believe on the cable line ... but its still the same basic looking phone(nik) thingy .... so ... is there something BASICALLY STUPID ... that i am forgetting .... or have to switch some "internet options" thingy ... damn i feel so stupid when it comes to computers ....     
i have never downloaded music ... so i figured ... with this relatively new laptop ... i would try that ---- and i figured that was where i would have problems !!!! but nooooo ... i cant even get the internet UP and runnin ... damn damn damn ... any imput would be greatly appreciated !!! | |

no serious comments /help ... damn ... computers make college grads look and feel so inferior and helpless .... talk about serious penis envy ... damn i have computer envy .... if i had a MAC it probably would be so easy to figure out !!! damn damn damn !!! | |

Is your company on some type of Local Area Network?
Do they function off of IP addresses? (Internet Protocol) ^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^

Try the Add Connection feature
Can you use another computer? If so look at the Connection properties > Internet Protocol > Properties Write down all the numbers and copy them to the new connection you just created All you have to do is change the fourth number of the IP address | |
