As the party was just a get together between Prince fans maybe this should be posted in Fan Gatherings, but as there was a little Org meeting right there between people from GD I hope the moderators will allow this....

What can I say? Paradiso tonight was filled with Prince enthousiast, who were surprised with the showing of the Lovesexy Dortmund concert. In comparison; the last Prince party I have been to was in Paris and they had a bootleg video of a One Nite Alone tour, which yet had to ht Europe...

The meet up, at that moment consisting of Fhunkin, Whateva, Danwtreader, Dawn 74 and Me, Gooey The Hamster, quickly retreated to the first floor to get some space, some view and more importantly; beer.

As soon as the video was over, they threw in some Prince music and we ran down to get our groove on. They spinned a couple of tunes, of which I liked Hide The Bone best, as it showed how well that groove fits a dancefloor. They kinda lost the crowd with Last heart, in itself a great song, but try to dance to that...

Our gang was quickly multiplied with the arrival of late peeps IstenCzek (I know I just get the spelling wrong AGAIN) and OneNiteAlone1970 and introduced ourselves. Most people never met in real life, so lots of handshaking and people calling me Jerry or Gooey, not yet used to the fact I use my REAL name these days.

Fhunkin then left for his third job at one of the trendier clubs in Amsterdam. Loved your gag-lace. Hehehe. He missed out on a Prince cover band that was TOO funny. The singer looked like Huey Lewis of And The News fame and their covers sounded like a slight insult. I am sure they are great guys and all, but in confirms my prejudice about cover bands; nothing beats the real thing. You hear me, Prince, better get your ass out of The States and play Europe, damnit.

It was great to see IstenCzek and Dawn74 for the first time! Good meet up, guys! And great to see ONA1970 again, who is as lively on the dancefloor as I would have imagined.

Then, sadly I had to leave too, as have to work tomorrow, ermmm TODAY and I just started a new job, so I need to make at least a fresh impression tomorrow.

But again, I want to thank THIS forum and this site for introducing me to the nicest people you can imagine, who would never ever meet in real life otherwise.

Thanks Org, for enriching my life.

And let's do it again soon, but then at my place, with the right kind of beer (Whateva's particular when it comes to brands) and the right kind of music.

Last, but not least; the people we missed; AGCW. I wished we could have shaked our booty together, woman! Princes & Billiejackbitch; you would have loved ogling the cute guy hovering around us and that I was too shy to approach.

And Abierman, you will not mind me saying that you are a sad fuck. LoL. I understand a new girlfriend might be the bomb, but it was YOU who got us all together in the first place. I lied about the five models with polkadot panties, but that was BEFORE I walked into Paradiso.
Even Prince MUSIC will draw hoards of beautiful women. Maaaaan, you missed out.

Last but certainly not least we would like to thank Mirjam, my oldest of Prince buddies for arranging free tix for the Fantastic Four, Me, Whateva, Fhunkin and Dawntreader want to tell you that the only bad thin about the eveningwas YOU not being there!

the best thing about the prince paradiso party was the music.

prince music is great to dance too, so much better than most of the contemporary dance music. it's so much fun to hear the music through a BIG system, just listen to that bass...

but the DJ should have never bothered to put his own sounds in with his little drum pad. :shudder:

and even though the tribute band GLAMSLAM actually consisted of good musicians, there's just nothing clever about copying prince. especially when you have no keyboard or horns.

Most of all, it was fun to meet some orgers (and people from itaintover.org). I think the dj ruled, I started dancing at two and stopped at five-ish. It's great to hear Prince-music and not see the dancefloor get empty but filled with beautifull women dancing and singing along. Loved it.

The orgers were exactly the types I expected. Specially Phunkin and Gooey ( [goy] right?).
