It's TWINS It's TWINS..... and they Need Names !!

Sister Cherrywood gave birth to Healthy Baby Twins this afternoon at 5.10 pm. She now has

a baby boy and a baby girl.....They arrived a day late, but are healthy and well

Here are their first photos

First the baby Girl....

And Here the Baby Boy....

Sister Cherrywood is also well and is over the moon...as is husband Oakwood...at having two

little beautys like these.

Now they need names for them and are at a bit of a loss as they were not expecting twins ...

...So they would like the good people of the org to help them.

Your suggestions are welcome.

Yellowwood for the baby girl!

The yellowwood is a rare native tree. Its range is in the Appalachian Mountains in western North Carolina, eastern Tennessee, Arkansas and Missouri. It grows in rich, well-drained limestone soils on slopes, ridges and along streams and is hardy in Iowa and other areas north of its range. Fragrant blooms are produced in June in pendulous clusters of showy, white, butterfly-like flowers. It has a serious problem of producing narrow growth angles of the crotches, which often cause the tree to be subject to breakage in storms.

For the lil boy how about Devilwood , cause he'll be a lil devil or Ironwood cause he'll grow up big and strong!

The ironwood is native to southern Canada and eastern, midwestern and south-eastern US, extending into northern Mexico. It is native throughout Iowa and is probably the most common woodland tree in the state, but has attracted little horticultural interest as the flowers are not showy, fall color is not spectacular and trees are slow to establish after transplanting. The fruit is a small, flattened nut enclosed in an inflated, papery sac. These sacs overlap in hanging clusters, resembling the fruit of the hop vine, hence another common name "hophornbeam." The wood is harder than that of any other Iowa native tree.

Devilwood grows in both rich and poor soils, and although it is usually found in moist areas in the wild, it can tolerate periods of dryness. Devilwood gets its name from its extremely tough wood, which is almost impossible to split. Lucky for us gardeners, the shape of this little tree is so naturally beautiful it should never need pruning.

Sister Cherrywood really likes the sound of both Yellowwood and Ironwood...The explanations

also give them significance.....Devilwood...hmmm.....maybe...explanation is good

You seem to have put some thought into this and Sister Cherrywood and Oakwood have them

at the top of their list so far.....we would like to take other suggestions and give others a

say, But you are way in the lead just now,

On behalf of all the Woods I would like to give you a big thank you. We will of course keep

you informed.

Many thanks from all the Woods for your suggestion.

We already have a young Balsawood and think this may cause confusion.

You are however on the right track and will listen to any further suggestions you have. Thank you

This is Balsawood on the far right

Thank You....it's nice....and fluffy...it also tends to change colour a little in the early years...

(we have the ability to "morph" ourselves a little....and this is the first sign of it...until we gain control that is....in later years it can take quite a bit of energy out of one ...so we tend only to use it when needed)

They are little cuties though.... and are very active and vocal...sleep is at a premium...but it's worth it all ...and some.

I will try and get some more pictures later.

Thank You

Hello everybody....We're kinda late with this, but Sister Cherrywood and Oakwood have made

their decision on the choice of names for their baby twins....

So Please meet Yellowwood

and Ironwood

We would like to thank all who take an interest and those who have suggested names....and

special thanks to PurpleThunder who's suggestions and explanation made the final cut.

All the family feel like these are babies of the org and would like God Parents for them

so if you would like to be considered please let us know on this thread.

Many thanks for now

I have to rush for the treacle mine very soon as a storm is about to break and production

is low just now.....

I will be back with an update soon....just been busy lately what with the Twins ..and all the

Flooding storm....(the sugar water is a menace...leaves crystals everywhere you know).

Want to be a Godparent eh....hmmm.....I must admit you seem like a good candidate, but

final decision is up to sister Cherrywood and Oakwood.....

.....We Will See.....wink

Keep a lookout for the updates....they will be coming.....
