Does my son see dead people at night or he just doesn't want to go to bed when it's time? I feel guilty when he starts to screaming at bed time. I swear he acts like there are ghosts in his room when it's time to go to bed. I'm tired and I need sleep.

Listen careful to what he says CC and don't let him think that you don't believe him...children are a lot more sensitive for certain 'things', more pure (sorry if i can't exaclty explain what i mean ![]() ![]()

you dont even have to tell me about kids making you feel guilty mine does it all the time, everyday I go to work, everyday she has to go somewhere else and everytime its bed time. Better get used to it, I have learned to function on less sleep than I ever imagined possible.

My husband used to tell stories about the bath monster that would drink all the water that went down the plug hole. My little one has an active imagination and used to scream his head off when we attempted to get him to use the toilet, the poor wee thing was so frightened the bath monster had moved to the toilet and was watching him do the toilet and just waiting to jump up and drink the water.
We had to go to the toilet with him every time, check the bowl and say the bath monster wasn’t there, wait until he did his business. It took many months to perused him not to be afraid. (my silly husband and his daft stories ![]() Try purchasing a night light that you keep on all night for him. and maybe you going into the room and laying down beside your little one until they fall asleep might help. Good luck i hope you get some sleep soon ![]()

Got 3 of my own big man... all at different levels of fears and understanding...
I have found the night lights work very well... they just don't like complete darkness. I have also found that daddy makes a FANTASTIC teddy bear and I have slept many a nights in my kids beds.... they do it now I think just to sleep next to me... that's alright... doesn't bother me a bit ![]()

Last night when I went back into his room, he grabbed me and pointed to an empty corner. Now, I'm not a person that will pretend to have seen something that wasn't there. But I did see something that I couldn't explain late one night. I saw this bitch ass "whatever" twice. I'm wondering if he sees it,because he picks up on a lot of shit that I'm like wondering how he's able to do it. I hope this made sense. I'm multi-tasking over here. For shits and giggles, you should dress up as a monster one night, and jump out of his closet...

Some kids are afraid of the dark. Get a night light for the kids room that should end it. ![]() Ohh purple joy oh purple bliss oh purple rapture! REAL MUSIC by REAL MUSICIANS - Prince "I kind of wish there was a reason for Prince to make the site crash more" ~~ Ben |

I'm the wrong person to ask, I spent most of my childhood waiting for Dracula to come ravish me ![]() I need to sleep in as total darkness as possible, I was NEVER afraid of the dark. The things that have been scary in my life require light. There are much worse things than the dark. Oh, forgot: I also believe there ARE things that go bump in the night, so gdo what luv4u said: allow him to have a light on. Also, if there's a tree outside his window, make sure you have a heavy blind. I know a few kids that don't know anything scarier than the shadow of the tree on the window at night. Eventually he'll hopefully grow out of having the light, if nothing else he'll turn 18 and can decide to have his light on ![]() [This message was edited Wed Aug 18 12:07:50 2004 by Teacher]

Well, I don't know if this helps or not, but we were having trouble with my future stepson being afraid when he went to bed. I just recently trained my dog to stay in his bedroom at night, and now he sleeps soundly. Having a dog in there to "guard" him seems to make him feel safe. ![]() Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones.
