MrJoker

Can you get anything to play through other programs, or is it limited to WMP?

Shush goon! tease

MrJoker, I've only got Windows Media to play music through I'm afraid. I just thought it was very strange that it should just happen like that. I suppose I could download another program but I'm a bit too tired and lethargic to do it at present.

In Programs -> Accessories -> Multimedia, there's also the Sound Recorder program. Try playing any of the midi or wav files from the windows/media folder and see if anything happens. Otherwise, go into Device Manager and check the sound card to see if it says that it's working properly, or check to see if something came unplugged from your speakers to the system.

Okay, I've seen this before. You need to ramp up your "cache docs" Wizard to a three bit rate.

Follow these instructions:

Go to menu--->docs--->McAfee agent and run a reboot session. (Or just reboot from your start disc)

Defragment your base directory (hold down the shift key or you will lose data.)

Then just re-defragment whatever's left of you harddrive and VOILA!

biggrin
