Well this shit is automatically doomed. It's gonna be a corny horror/comedy.
What they need to do is stop with all the comic book garbage and make actual horror films with these characters, BY THEMSELVES!!! The only "Vs." film I would wanna see would be Freddy Vs. Hellraiser. But I guess they need a "Freddy" in these movies,cuz if it was Jason vs. Michael Myers....it would pretty much be a silent movie. Freddy was actually menacing in ONE film, and that was the FIRST Nightmare. The Evil Dead films never were serious, and I don't think Jason has been truly scary since the second film. Might as well have some fun with it. Freddy vs Hellraiser would be just as bad, I guarantee. Even if it was played serious, it would induce giggles. Freddy is a joke now, and Pinhead hasn't been much better since the atrocious Hellraiser III: Hell On Earth. For serious horror, there's gonna have to be a brand new franchise, with a new character (which will, eventually, devolve into self-parody as well. Its inevitable. Its happened with EVERY SINGLE ONE of the major horror series).

A new, truly scary villian needs to hit the scene. Don't get me wrong, I get a huge kick out of silly horror like Freddy and Jason, but to get TRUE horror, something new needs to come along. Why is it that this hasn't happened in ages?? Hollywood hasn't turned out a horror villian since Scream, and that was pretty much parody from the beginning. There have been attempts, like the Tooth Fairy in Darkness Falls, but they never were fleshed out enough to really get them to catch on. We need a new villian, plain and simple.

You know its bound to happen!! Arrrgh! Oh, I do have to disagree with Jason X being the worst of the series. That honor goes to Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday. A completely incoherent flick that blatantly ripped-off The Hidden. The only part of that one I could stand was Freddy's glove appearing at the end! At least Jason X was entertaining on the "its so bad its funny" level (I laughed my ass off when "Robo-Jason" appeared. That was just sooooo ridiculous)
