asses If the plans go through...I just hope it doesn't suck like Freddy vs. Jason. [This message was edited Tue Aug 17 23:23:43 2004 by HelloKittyIsMyFriend] BAH! Ash would make ALL of them his little bitches!! Jason would get his retarded ass handed to him by the KING, baby!! Shit, throw in Michael Myers and Pinhead. Ash would mop the floor with 'em!! Please! Michael has been shot six times, blown up to smitherines, shot again numerous times with several "boomsticks",beaten to a bloody pulp, and set on fire. Four strings across the bridge. Yeah, well, he never faced Ash in sporting goods!!! Ash took on hordes of undead, possessed zombies! Legions of demonic forces that make Freddy, Jason, Michael Myers and Pinhead all look like romper room! to quote Ashtheking's siggy: HAIL TO THE KING, BABY!!! I don't think all its sequels were crap (Halloween II and H20 were alright), but the latter half of the series has been shit. It annoys me that it gets lumped it with the rest of the crap slasher lot (again, though I enjoy them on some level), because it's a lot better than them. It has only itself to blame, because of all the inferior sequels. I liked part two, too. I think it was the best out of the other sequels. Without a doubt. It was the closest in spirit to the original. H2O was decent, but it needed to have less of a WB cast. Couldn't have put it better myself (although, I will admit, I am looking forward to seeing Ash school those two child murdering bastards!!) Sure, they kill teens left and right, but they've never taken on someone as groovy as Ash!!! Those two pussies don't stand a chance!!! ---- [This message was edited Thu Aug 19 10:16:35 2004 by JediMaster] Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. Well this shit is automatically doomed. It's gonna be a corny horror/comedy.
What they need to do is stop with all the comic book garbage and make actual horror films with these characters, BY THEMSELVES!!! The only "Vs." film I would wanna see would be Freddy Vs. Hellraiser. If kept serious, it could actually work. Everything else is bullshit. "You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "

But I guess they need a "Freddy" in these movies, cuz if it was Jason vs. Michael Myers....it would pretty much be a silent movie. To be quite honest anything with "VS" in it is asking for disaster....quality wise. But most people don't exactly go see horror movies for good storylines. Four strings across the bridge. If kept serious, it could actually work. Everything else is bullshit. As I stated, these films went that route a looooong time ago. Freddy was actually menacing in ONE film, and that was the FIRST Nightmare. The Evil Dead films never were serious, and I don't think Jason has been truly scary since the second film. Might as well have some fun with it. Freddy vs Hellraiser would be just as bad, I guarantee. Even if it was played serious, it would induce giggles. Freddy is a joke now, and Pinhead hasn't been much better since the atrocious Hellraiser III: Hell On Earth. For serious horror, there's gonna have to be a brand new franchise, with a new character (which will, eventually, devolve into self-parody as well. Its inevitable. Its happened with EVERY SINGLE ONE of the major horror series). Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. So I think they'd have to make Freddy a bit more serious (or at least I would hope). It's the only Vs. that would make sense cuz it's not hard to see Freddy in hell. Freddy could work both with the Cenobites and against them. I think it's the comedy is what ruins these things. Yeah, there may have been some of that, but I don't think they joked up the series like they did with Elm Street and Evil Dead. I think a dark psychological horror film could be descent with these guys. "You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "

I think a dark psychological horror film could be descent with these guys. Well, I think in order to get a dark psychological horror flick, at this point a brand new franchise needs to be created. A new, truly scary villian needs to hit the scene. Don't get me wrong, I get a huge kick out of silly horror like Freddy and Jason, but to get TRUE horror, something new needs to come along. Why is it that this hasn't happened in ages?? Hollywood hasn't turned out a horror villian since Scream, and that was pretty much parody from the beginning. There have been attempts, like the Tooth Fairy in Darkness Falls, but they never were fleshed out enough to really get them to catch on. We need a new villian, plain and simple. You know its bound to happen!! Arrrgh! Oh, I do have to disagree with Jason X being the worst of the series. That honor goes to Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday. A completely incoherent flick that blatantly ripped-off The Hidden. The only part of that one I could stand was Freddy's glove appearing at the end! At least Jason X was entertaining on the "its so bad its funny" level (I laughed my ass off when "Robo-Jason" appeared. That was just sooooo ridiculous) Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9) | |
