Positive Thinking "Positive thinking doesn't sound like a very good idea to me. I'm sure it doesn't work. And if it does, it's probably real hard to do." - George Carlin

Yeah, he's funny... and what he says is true. It IS real hard to do, but it's better than being negative... that's the easy thing to do.

George Carlin...
I live by positive thinking... ^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect, it means you've decided to look beyond the imperfections... unknown

I think there needn't be any difference between suffering from actual pain and mental pain. However, it does seem harder for people to master their own self-inflicted suffering. This is in that you have to accept responsibility for your mental state in order to end the negative suffering yourself: 'He/she is making me unhappy' or 'She/he is not appreciating me' or 'Society is shitting on me'/ It's much harder to admit that some of our beliefs, hopes and expectations are working against our better interests, and if you're like me, I find it hard to figure out what to do about it! I think however, the only way to end your own negative thoughts is to disown it and think positively. But in order to do that you have to admit to owning it in the first place.
Indeed, perhaps the best thing we can do is to think positively about things and transform that negativity into something useful.
