Did you see that kid? First he anhialates the European Champion by 11 points then last night ended it inside the first round. I am gonna miss the fighty on Friday, I am gutted this guy is amazing to watch. The great thing is he is 17!!! He should be winning GOlds for a couple more olympics after this one. Don't think Khan will be eligible for any more Olympics after this one though, coz boxing is the only 'amateur' sport thats played at the Olympics, there's no professional boxers allowed. The way Khan's motoring along he'll turn pro anytime soon after he's 18, no doubt! So atleast we'll be able to may see him grab a few major world boxing titles or two
Let's just hope he doesn't turn out to be a twat like that fool Naseem Hamed

Mate, I think it's got something to do with the safety aspect more than anything, minimising the injury risk, if there is such a thing in boxing. You see the difference between pro and amateur boxing is that amateur boxing requires the mandatory wearing of head-guards, vest-tops and the usage of specially cushioned gloves. The rules are slighty difference too, as well as the objectives of the bout (to a certain degree). I only know this shit coz I'm a bit of a boxing fan.
