Julia Child (1912 - 2004)

Show your love to the cook who taught our moms how to cook!

Julia you will be sorely missed! It's a very sad Day indeed!

May you go to the Big Cookie Jar in the Sky!

My friend Mark is so sad...he's singing Prince lyrics ala Julia Voice..The Chocolate Invasion starts here. lol

I just watched her special last night with my kids. They were laughing at how clumsy she was and I was remembering how I used to laugh at the same thing...then I would go in the kitchen and try out the new recipe.

I pour out a bottle for Julia. absolut We will miss you. sad

I don't know; we are all fucked up. What was up with the Frugal Gourmet guy, didn't he do something bad a few years back?

One of my favorite moments was watching Martha and Julia in the kitchen making Christmas Cookies. Julia had no idea what was going on and Martha kept telling her you had to add the little touches to make it just so.

It was hilarious!

Frugal Gourmet

"To others, he was a tyrant of the public-TV production set, a tireless self-promoter and a chef of mediocre culinary talent.

He was accused in three lawsuits of sexually abusing some of the young men who worked for him, ending his television career in the 1990s."

http://seattletimes.nwsou...ith10.html

"But in 1997, seven men filed a lawsuit alleging they had been sexually abused by Smith as youths. Six said the abuse occurred while they worked for him at the Chaplain's Pantry, a restaurant he operated in Tacoma in the 1970s. The seventh alleged Smith abused him after picking him up as a hitchhiker in 1992.

Smith was soon off the air, though he denied the allegations and was never charged with a crime. He and his insurance companies paid an undisclosed sum to settle the lawsuit."
