My Interview Horror Story

I had an interview scheduled for 7:00 tonight and I ended up walking out, in tears, after my typing test and before speaking with the doctor.

The good news is I passed my typing test. The bad news is, suddenly, while sitting there, I felt completely out of my element and couldn't go through with it. His secretary was very kind, listening to me sniff and try and tell her why I was leaving... all the while, her telling me I should talk to the doctor and my saying... "no..." and shaking my head no. I go to leave, finally, and I couldn't get out... I just needed to get out, then, like a dumb-ass, I turn around, tears streaming from my cheeks and I say... "I can't get out...". Too emotional to realize to turn the damned knob and unlock it.

I feel like a complete moron, but there's no way I could work there and I didn't want to waste his time.

Any other horror stories from interviews?

I've just never seen so much money on peoples bodies before... the whole place reeked of money. Suddenly, I felt like dirt.

I did compose a letter apologizing for walking out before even seeing him... and thanking him for considering me for the position.

Afterwards, I immediately called my mom and cried like a damned baby! smile

Thanks! The sad thing is, I'm 90% sure I could have gotten the position. I've had two phone interviews with him this week and things were looking great. He was concerned about the typing test... which I passed... so, I probably could have gotten it. But, I couldn't do it. I couldn't work there.

You know... the last place I worked did just that... stared at the women's breasts during the interview. I was told, as long as they looked good, they were hired, they based it upon looks alone, and if the breasts were hanging out, they were a sure hire. Until I started interviewing... I checked work history and everything to make sure they had some sort of clue... lol

First ever. All of my other jobs I've gotten either upon talking to the person when I dropped off my resume and hired then, or gotten a call after I've dropped it off with no interview.

And... well... I did. I felt like the scum of the earth in there. I didn't want to waste any more of the Doctor's time. We spoke briefly in the front office prior to my taking the typing test... he was very nice and personable, just like on the phone... things were good, then after looking around while waiting... I felt dirty.

no thank you confused

i was going to edit this to express my disgust, but i'll let sleeping dogs lie. or let someone else in the know fill you in on the details as to why i'd find that reprehensible. needless to say, i'm not him. GrayKing may fill you in. or he may not. but that's all i have to say about it.
