Speaking of gay things, it was Pride yesterday and I had a really good time. I was checking out the parade with my best friend and his husband and their son, and afterwards we had a lovely dinner party in the yard at the hubby's place along with two other gay couples.
Then we went to a couple of bars and finally to the huge pride party and I was like, "ooh, maybe I'll get laid?"

Then my best friend catches up to me on the dance floor and tells me that his husband wants a divorce.

I live two minutes walk from the party, so instead of getting laid, I have my friend over to talk until well into the morning. He seemed quite together and very rational and logical about it and finally insisted on going home to sleep at his own place. So I told him to call me if he woke up feeling miserable.

And then I fell asleep, and I've just gotten up and am feeling rather hung over. And I'm having two other friends over in a few hours. We're gonna go see The Chronicles Of Riddick, right?

But, man... I doubt I'll ever forget this Pride. Unfortunately.

VERY unexpected. When we're out, the hubby usually doesn't last as long as the party animals, me and my friend, so this time he wanted to go home earlier than us, too. And then my friend saw him make a phone call and followed him to ask who on earth he was calling at this hour, and it was some other man he'd been secretly chatting with for awhile.

The hubby had been thinking for the last couple of months, that they had grown apart and he wanted a divorce, he just hadn't worked up the nerve to tell so yet. And then it all came out there at the Pride.

I felt so sorry for my friend but was at the same time very impressed with the strength he showed in handling the situation.

Now he's four and they are getting along fine, but I still think he should've told her before he started cheating on her.
