HOW... Facing difficulties, the human being always feels like asking: "Why does this problem exist and is it someone's fault?" He's looking for culprits and ways to punish them.
There will always be a big difference between those who ask "Why things don't work?" and those who ask "How can I make things work?". At the time, the world belongs to those who ask "why". But our future inevitably belongs to those who ask "how". Is there any place of refuge one can flee from this insanity

But our future inevitably belongs to those who ask "how" beautifully said I will admit I'm a person who asks "why" a lot...I have a bad tendency to see the glass as half empty, you know what I mean? I think the difference between the two as you describe them is experience and wisdom growing up and maturing - a mature person will be the one asking "how can I make things work"

Some deep stuff there ~ I agree that we usually tend to ask why? as opposed to immediately asking how we can change it, and make things better.
Perhaps with this realisation we can start to change our habits in regards to how we deal with such things. I think the next time I'm faced with a problem I'll be trying to ask how instead of why, and just sit there feeling disappointed. Thank you, Marroussia.* It's lovely to see some 'deep' threads such as this - where we can actually come close to having a real-life discussion! (Though the lighter threads are always a pleasure, too ~ you know, for shits & giggles! ) Love you guys

All the whys and hows I have asked have made me learn and understand a whole lot more and every mistake I make or wrong I have had done to me have made me a stronger and better person - so I would never take them back. I like to live and learn.
My main problem of asking why, is I tend to always blame myself. I am not fair to myself sometimes, and always beat myself up about certain things going wrong. I have to learn to accept (which I am doing) and sometimes life throws these obstacles at you, no matter how hard or seemingly unfair they are at the time. The best feeling is knowing you have got though them and learned. It makes us who we are today. (MarySharon, I hope this is kind of what you mean, cos sometimes, I get the wrong end of the stick - if that is the case, I have been rambling off topic ) if sexy was a colour it would be red

There will always be a big difference between those who ask "Why things don't work?" and those who ask "How can I make things work?". At the time, the world belongs to those who ask "why". But our future inevitably belongs to those who ask "how". In the simple statement... Actions speak louder than words. Whys are stagnant questions only for the mind, a trap in oneself filled with fear. The hows I feel, indicate a sense of self-confindence/bravery and optimism, less fear of what may be but what will be. Acceptance in life, all life moments are the critical components to becoming a merchant of hope today as well for our future of tomorrow. Beautiful day MarySharon and all. Application of self. Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect, it means you've decided to look beyond the imperfections... unknown

The road to wisdom is a long journey. I just find myself thinking "who am I to post this?" cuz I ask also "why" a lot. I can't help it! Becoming wiser is a daily work, and that's what I'm trying to do. Is there any place of refuge one can flee from this insanity
