Are men who kill their pregnant wives following natural instinct? First off, let me state that I don't think there is any excuse for guys like Mark Hacking (who's confessed) or Scott Peterson (who hasn't confessed but it looks like he did it) to kill their pregnant wives. If you don't want to be in that situation LEAVE!
With that said, I heard an argument that says that men are following their natural instincts in these situations. Kind of like lions who kill their newborn cubs because they will take away potential attention from them. If someone is so selfish as to kill a woman and her unborn child or just a child because they take attention away from someone, then that person needs to be put in a cage at the zoo with the rest of the lower life forms.   Proud member of Prince's cult for 20 years! | |

I don't believe for a second that that was even a remote reason why these two idiots did what they did. I think it was an escape for these guys to either hide from their lies or to start new lives.
It was my instinct to be even more protective of my wife when she was pregnant. I drove slower, I made sure she had everything she needed, I made late night runs to Baskin Robbins for triple chocalate truffle ice cream  , and overall became very guarding of her and the babies.
I can't imagine that this was even a remote thought.... unless ofcourse they believed the child wasn't theirs..... | |

First off, lions typically kill the cubs of a rival male, not their own. This is to bring the female back into heat sooner, so that the lion can then impregnate her with his own genetic material. Most cat species do this (even stray housecats).
Second, if this were "natural", then males of all species would be doing it. In most other species, the FEMALE will kill her own offspring. When this occurs, it is almost always due to some sort of defect in the newborn. This is nature's way of weeding out bad genes. What these shitbags did is not natural in any way. These are some evil fuckers, plain and simple. They can use excuses if they want, but it doesn't hide the fact that they are gutless, spineless shits who took the life of a woman and her unborn, innocent child. They are about as far from being real men as possible.

Supa that is some crazy ass theory. I am trying to rack my brains to find an example of why a father would kill his OWN kids (Lion example clarified beautifully by JediMAster). I don't know about the cases you refer to but if this is being put forward as some kind of justification then it's pretty desperate. Happy is he who finds out the causes for things.Virgil (70-19 BC).
