The Org & Depression I have been away from the org for a while now, but as i go thru the forums, i notice a lot of people speaking out about depression. I don't know what has came over the org, but I would just like to let everyone who is feeling this "seasonal" mood swing they are not alone. A lot of people are out there and feeling down, this is nothing new, but each and everyone one of us must make a decision in life to be happy or sad. No one will make this decision for us, no one really can, they don't have the power. We are all unique and gifted in our own way and we must notice this in ourselves. i have been thru a long dramatic depressive peroid with coming out to my family. And i know that sometimes the easiest answer is just driving the car into oncoming traffic and ending it all, but thats what quitters do. I stand to make sure that I am happy before i try to make others feel better. this has turned into something of a rambling session when i wanted to drop a few pearls of wisdom, but i see thats just not going to work. so if anyone is having problems, orgnote a friend or me. its always better to talk to someone, they can show you what they see, sometimes that mirror is a lil cleaner.

I agree... Very thoughtful sentiments.. I think when people get in this low (I for one can vouch) YOu seem like your the ONLY one there. Like your alone and no one can understand, but the truth of the matter is, I am sure 9 out of 10 people have been there.. Maybe not in the same exact situation, but emotionally everyone has gone though some tough tough times. Its hard to get out of a rutt.. Defintly talk to someone who can make you smile or laugh and go do something good for youself.. That always seems to help me!
Alex, I applaud your wonderful thoughtful gesture.. The day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom - Anais Nin

& that's very sweet, Alex here in Australia depression affects 1 in 3 people...it's very sad and something that a lot of people don't see as a "real" problem, unfortunately most of us have been through bad times, and admittedly some more than others, but life has a funny way of balancing out...and communication and reaching out is just so important if you are feeling this way

ALEX!!!!
Thank you for posting such a thoughtful thread. I think people who are depressed, sometimes cant tell their friends, family or work colleagues, and feel more comfortable discussing it on the Org. Thats what makes this place so special and if anyone is depressed, or feeling depressed, please, please let it out and talk about it here. The people here are wonderful, and are will genuinely help if they can. So anyone reading this, who is feeling down and cant tell close friends how they are feeling..even if you are new and dont know anyone to confide in.. drop me an orgnote, I have been there and more than likely know or understand how you are feeling, I will be there to help, if I possibly can, or someone just to listen, in strictest confidence of course.
