Definitely think about which one you want-the 'ol "it'll be there forever" is always a factor. yeah, I looked at it again, its a little drawn out. But I had to explain my view . And yes, exactly- always think about it seriously before you do it. I have a friend who gets a tattoo everytime she's depressed. Although she's running out of room, she usually gets things that bring her back to her happy place, or grounds her. They are really expressive of who she is, too. was this reply too long? No, that is satisfactory. You have done well. A tattoo every time she's depressed? Man, that's like me and CDs. Did I mention I have close to 600?

Are you Chinese? If not, PLEASE don't get one.....or at least be SUPER careful. I know too many people who've gotten completely whack characters. The last thing you want is to be strolling around Chinatown and have people snickering at you because you have "ass hair" tattoed on you! [This message was edited Wed Aug 11 16:02:03 2004 by kellyann22] I agree. But you said that you wanted your avatar as a tattoo. What's that there in the middle? Is it something in Arabic? But aren't you white? JUST SAY NO TO APPROPRIATION! My password is "comeon"! So, c'mon and take a FreeRide!

If I ever decided to, I would get a cross on one shoulder, the star of David on the other, and the Satanic star on my upper back. "You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "

But aren't you white? JUST SAY NO TO APPROPRIATION! Well, it may or may not be EXACTLY like my avitar. I'm still not 100% solid on the design, as there are many interpretations of it. It's the symbol for the 7th chakra (the "crown" chakra), which is the center of spirituality. (copied and pasted from another site): "The seventh chakra is at the top of the head and is often referred to as the crown chakra. Violet is the color that emanates from this center. The visual symbol for the 7th chakra is a thousand petalled lotus. The driving force of this chakra is to ascend. It is in this center that we truly learn how to integrate with spirit. In the seventh chakra, we dissolve our little egos into the oneness with the cosmos. We become the god/goddess made manifest. It is the center for divine imagination, and our place of illumination." I have never been pierced or tattooed, though I'm really getting ready to get a tattoo. Then there's a part of me that always feels like the minute I do something, it goes out of style, which is why I've never even had an ear pierced...

Heard on the news yesterday that in Britain, something like 30% of those with tattoos are now getting them removed. It costs hundreds and hurts MUCH more than the original procedure did. Sigh. Don't wish to sound smug but..... well..... you know. I wouldn't bother, everyone has the same ones now anyway, and you know they are gonna date.. Both of mine I designed myself and have nothing to do with superficial things like fave band/singer, lover, brand name logo, or clique-related anything, so I highly doubt I'll be regretting mine ever. Body piercing and tattooing have been semi-mainstream for over a decade now, so I doubt they're going out of style anytime soon. Also, with so many people having tattoos, and those tattoos being essentially permanent, I'd be surprised if tattoos come to be considered unfashionable. Anyway, I first began to consider getting a tattoo around the time I turned 18, but I wound up waiting eight years before I finally did it. One of the reasons I waited was that I wasn't sure I was ready to commit to having a permanent mark. Ironically, when I did get inked, at age 26, the permanence of it was one of my reasons for doing so, as my tattoo is connected to events that changed my life forever. Please note: effective March 21, 2010, I've stepped down from my prince.org Moderator position. |

Don't wish to sound smug but..... well..... you know. hence the reason tattoos should never NEVER be an impulse thing. i have spent at LEAST 1 year planning and designing each of my tattoos...i love them dearly and each and every one has a special meaning to me that i would never wish to erase. you're only as old as you feel..............so how old do i feel

Yeah i have not one tattoo or peircing, because EVERBODY does it, and i hate being part of the crowd.
If it was opposite and everybody's bodies were clean then hell, i'd have peircings all over and tattoos all over my body.

I tried to give myself one when i was about 15 by wrapping cotton around a pin, dipping it into ink from a pen, and stabbing my chest with it until it vaguely resembled a heart.
3 days later it was all green and ikky, and that was it for me.
