I would have worked with the cherry wood and gone for a darker warmer vibe. Burgundy, azure blue, brown, orange and golds - like a Moroccan theme.

That's damn beautiful nod nod nod

His concept made me rethink that possibly I could keep some of the cherrywood...

It's a lot of work, but also a lot of fun to redesign an apartment/house. Me and my boyfriend started several years ago, but we are still not finished redface. For me it is very important to be surrounded by things I like and to create an individual atmosphere, so it takes some time to do everything like I want it to be. Here's a pic of my living room (in fact it's the only room besides the kitchen that is nearly finished)

I know that many people don't like that style, but we love it and that's all that matters nod. And the rest of our apartment looks a little bit more "average" wink

I wish you loads of success! I am sure you will feel a lot more at home once you have created an atmosphere you like.
BTW, I love your orgname nod
With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

Thank you, dear hug
I must admit that it looks better on the photos than it does in real live as my boyfriend is a very talented photographer nod.
The colour purple was inspired by Prince (and though I am not that much of a fan anymore I am still thankful for the inspiration).

That's the best shot I have of the wall unit. I had the idea to put my stereo in the chimney as it was quite ugly and we didn't use it anymore. So we painted it in purple and zebra design. To the left and the right are to CD racks that also have mirrors on the other side (you can turn them around if you want the mirror in front). We also changed the wall and the board to zebra design and painted 2 old battens of a rack in purple and zebra design (you can see them left and right to one pictureframe underneath the clock). and use them as shelves.
We also painted the dining table and an old trunk that my grandfather had used at the beginning of this century in the same design (you can see it behind the chair in the first picture I had posted). And of course the heaters had to be purple as well biggrin .

As you can see here the chair is no rabbit wink lol. The chair and the sofa are from the same company that offers you the chance to create your own pieces of furniture by choosing from a large variety of designs and furniture fabrics. But as it is quite expensive we waited for quite some time and frequently visited the stores that sell it until we were lucky and found first the chair and some months later the sofa a lot cheaper as they usually are sold because they have been exhibited in the store.

Yeah the smell of the paint is annoying and the process of renovating and redesigning can be hard mad . When we planned our kitchen we forgot about the opportunity for opening the window, so we had to change everything again redface duh
Binary Justin's suggestions seem to fit quite well, just be creative, use them as an inspiration and adapt them for your room and it will look great nod

Ok I am only able to work on this on weekends..... This weekends favorite find is this: I have long needed to find a tie back for the curtains over the bed....

Before A basic ribbon..... ill shake clearly I was under the influence of floral wired ribbon! nuts

Now Not a great shot but you get the concept! I took it into the master bath as well. In addition I put smaller ones as tie backs for the curtains.

The one room at a time concept was a handy tip.... I also selected a wall border for the master bath and new curtain hooks! woot! So much better already!

Yep. It's kerosene on a clean cloth. It works spectacularly well on white plastic light-switches.

Just wash your hands afterwards before you light up a cigarette or something.
