Redesigning my house

I have hated this joint since the day I walked into it. It was the safe place in a great neighborhood that provided great schools for my children.

I don't know what I resent more.... The step down from the custom house I had or the fact that I spend $1700.oo a month to be here. My daughter has four more years so I suppose I will stay at least that much longer.

I have decided it would be therapeutic to make peace with the four walls that surround me. NOTHING matched when I arrived. I have cherry wood everything. ( Especially frames) Well that needs to go now.

Today I purchased some $600.oo in various things to try and tie it together. Egad I have a mess on my hands. The tones are sage, sand and off white. It appears that burnished brass is the best frame tone. I am unsure.... It really causes me mental angst trying to figure this put. Greatly because I don't want to waste money.

I guess I need a hug!

The good part is I did excellent on all the towel sets! ( They were the bulk of the expense! ) I found sand colored towels for the kitchen... The main ones have a coffee cup embossed in the center lol

the best way to get around the whole frame thing is to take a color swatch into a frame shop and ask their advice, they have a lot of experience with things of this nature. As for the rest of it, a pretty house means a pretty owner, so make sure that it has your attitude behind it, so it reflects nicely upon u. hug for muh Muse kotc

I would have worked with the cherry wood and gone for a darker warmer vibe. Burgundy, azure blue, brown, orange and golds - like a Moroccan theme.

Okay.... here's what you do... you pick a room... any room and start there!

Describe it for me.... what kind of floors (hardwood, cement, tile), then tell me how many windows or other openings there are. From there... I'll help you pick out some colors and you can run from there.

I have been in a perpetual state of remodeling on my current house. I just sanded down the hardwood floors and stained them. Then I painted the living room and went out and bought some new furniture.

I had to make peace with my house too... I have 2 more years until I finish my degree and then we're outta here....

I have a lot of experience in re-doing rooms, so if you need any help... just ask! wink

mad Ok so let me tell you what they dont ok? Start with the concept that after say 10 minutes (longer if you desire darker wood) you need to wipe it down....

Sounds simple right? mad Consider that it is tacky however... So the cloth sticks! #*$&%(@#*@&#!@!_+!!!!! mad
