I'm "Anglo-Indian"..my family lived in India for perhaps a century to a century and a half...so far, i know dat...on my mum's side: Brittish, Scottish, Irish, Portuguese, Spanish...on my dads i know dat they were all French/Germans...there is a blank on who my grandfather is...he was either Indian or Scottish soo close but yet so far!

My mother is Jamaican. My father is American with a German and Irish background.

I am an octoroon, meaning I am one-eighth black.

I am also one-eighth Chinese.

So I am a quarter Chinese and black, three-quarters white.

In my life, I have spent a lot of time explaining to people that yes, this does make me multiracial.

Many seem to think that just 'cause you can't see it, it isn't there. But calling myself white would be denying my mother and her entire generation.

It would also be denying myself.

I am very proud of my ethnicity.

I am adopted - and do not really know for sure - but ....

I was told by intake information that my mother is Part Polish and my Father is Black - but since they couldn't be sure who the father was - I would have to decide for myself - since I look 1/2 black I will have to guess the intake info was correct.

Well I am a rare mix indeed most see me and think "Oh he's just black" But in reality im a bit more than that.....
