YOU KNOW WHATS'S FULL OF CRAP?

OVER-DRAMATIZED DOCUMENATATIES ON ARCHAOLOGICAL FINDINGS!

Yesterday I was resting from my daily adventures to be faced with what looked like a promising documentary. It was called "The Big Picture: Quest for The Lost Pharaoh".
'Great!' i thought, as I made myself comfortable, using my cape as blanket as i curled up on the sofa. But as the programme proggressed I found myself increasingly irritated by the overly-dramatic actors who seemed to be playing out certain parts of Ancient Egyptian history as the voice over was explaining what the archaologist was discovering. It was bullshit! They could have at least made it look a bit rustic in quality to make it seem real..but even the filming had too much of a glossy edge to it. Just who were they tryin to impress? Not me! hmph!
Plus they were showing a particular painting with one girl's head which was erased. They suggested that her older brother erased it, and to illustrate that, they had this DICKHEAD actor hover around this painting looking like none-other than Gargamel from the Smurfs! I pissed myself laughing..what a joke. disbelief

hmmm

Sounds as bad as a special I once saw where that famous egyptian archeologist was going to dig into a "never-before uncovered" tomb (or some bullshit like that).

Anyway...after an hour's worth of hype and more B.S., he climbs down there and they discover that the tomb had been plundered hundreds of years ago.

Are you serious? Me too! I was enthralled by medieval history aswell! Learning about egyptology...fascincation in the evolution theory. I remember being in Year 7 asking "If we did indeed evolve...are we still evolving?"

Imagine if it became like the movie Waterworld!

Oh yeah! These are annoying. There's a lot of low-quality "historical", "archeological" documentaries, like The Search for Atlantis and the countless "mysteries" of Egypt. I love documentaries, but the speciality channels seem to have generated quickie documentaries all based on the same template. They start with the "mystery" and then cite the most colourful theories and make it sound like there's an actual debate in the academic community, when in fact the "theories" are highly dubious, but that doesn't matter when you are trying to build some kind of suspense. The worst docs are the ones that don't even fess up to low quality "information" and leave you with a "we don't really know.. Was it in the middle of the Black Sea or near the Cannari Island?"

And another thing : can they talk about some other animals then sharks, lions and elephants?
