Howard the duck (the comic book) !!! I just bought & read most of the Essential Howard The Duck trade paperback & after a few boring issues, the series became sooo great !!! Good humor & a social critic of USA that was rare in comics at the time (1976-78) ! & this sentence : "Y...you're a duck !!!" that everyone says every time they c Howard 4 the 1st time, & the speech Howard makes when he runs 4 the presidential elections, with that amazing "ladies & germs" beginning lol !!! & if u only know the stoopid movie... 4get about it, the comic book has nothing 2 do with it !
I just wanted 2 share my joy of discovering this comic-book, 2 know if it was shared by some of u, & i have a question that at least JediMaster (who damn seem 2 know everything about SW & comics lol) should b able 2 answer : will they ever publish volume 2 of the Essential Howard The Duck or did Volume 1 sold that bad that they won't ? I've got that! It's been awhile since i read it though. Going by the book, Cleveland appears to be a real shit place to live.
Artwork was top notch as well. |

Love Howie! He was the best thing about the Man-Thing comic. And I even like the movie! | |

Howard The Duck is friggin' brilliant!!! A true shame that the blasphemous film ruined the little guy's reputation as a foul-mouthed social commentator.
AS for EHTDv2, it will probably happen eventually. Marvel is pretty good these days with publishing their trades, but the "Essentials" series are notoriously inconsistent. The "Essential Tomb OF Dracula" took forever to be released, being solicited and cancelled four or five times (it did eventually see the light of day, you'll be happy to know). Drop Marvel and e-mail and let them know that you're waiting to plop down your pennies. The more people show an interest, the more likely they are to release it.
