Moderator | I want to see this movie! From Imdb.com: Saw (2004) Genre: Thriller Tagline: Every piece has a puzzle. Plot Outline: With a dead body laying between them, two men (Whannell and Elwes) wake up in the secure lair of a serial killer who's been nicknamed "Jigsaw" by the police because of his unusual calling card. View trailer here: http://filmforce.ign.com/...?fromint=1 I really want to see this movie has anyone heard anything about it? It's been handed an NC-17 rating because of excessive gore and violence. That's usually box office death, but I don't think it will be for this one. It's being compared to Seven. In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |

I normally go see any horror/thriller movie. I'll probably go see this one. The trailer didn't say too much about it though. Four strings across the bridge. Ready to carry me over,Over the quavers, drunk in the bars,Out of the realm of the orchestra

Advance reviews have been incredible. The word is: easily the best horror movie in a decade. Remember, all the great horror flicks work off of a simple scenario with minimal flash (Halloween, Psycho, etc.).

Moderator | I found this on a Imdb board:
' A lot of you seem to be expecting/hoping for an over-the-top, mass murdering gore fest. This movie is NOT a real smart 'horror' movie. It's not about a serial killer who brutally tortures and his victems. This isn't the 'serial killer dejur' movie who kills people in elaborate ways with a fiendish laugh as his victems squirm in agony. What "Saw" is, is a brilliantly crafted thriller. It is a 'mystery' along the lines of a film like Se7en (though I hesitate to compare 'Saw' with 'Se7en' as they are different types of movies), where a sadistic person prestents people with a 'choice' in order to show them how precious life is. As I mentioned in another post, it's the type of movie where a lot of viewers will 'swear' that they know who the Jigsaw Killer is well before the end. I'd say most people would be wrong. Saw is not what I'd call a horror movie, but it is a near great thriller/mystery (with some horrific situations, and a bit of gore). So, those of you expecting a super bloody, relentless serial killer movie may be disappointed, but if you walk into the theater with an open mind I think you'll be surprised and happy with the thriller that 'Saw ' is. In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular. |
